If you're after a BL heavy bromance, this ain't it. But as a detective, horror & part thriller with brotherhood/bromances in different forms, it's worth watching. Made with a creative production team, it's classy & gorgeous. And the men aren't bad either...

I came for him too🙂&Hong Yao. He did it again, no-one does complex, intense & soulful quite like him. Hope his curse of being caught in other ppl's cancellations is over. " Sword & Fairy 4 " might be next, so at least he gets to live longer there...

Apart from the poss BL elements (book's not BL), they might've tried to change the story which led to the over-editing & short eps.

The details in the last scene came from Wang Duo. The Director was open to suggestions, he originally suggested sitting & waiting. WD chose to walk to the mist. He said Shulin was proud, in control, & fatalistic in life😥.

True, he arrived in white & went out in black😎😢. The ending went awry. Some got whiplash & side eyed the M/L's, which wasn't the intention of the writers. They needed scenes to bridge the gap, but still a good drama when taken as a whole.

They used Rose's pic within a book of prostitutes on offer in a scene.
Netizens & Black Pink fans recognised her, production apologised then went quiet. We assumed they were doing re-edits & going through the rest of the footage, but it's gone on for longer. They haven't issued a reason so we're left with wild conspiracies, we just don't know RN.....

We don't know what's going on. The only thing to go on is they had to do edits after the "Rose" thing, then they disappeared over a cliff. Luckily, we're kept informed 🙄.

Probably not, he was away filming 2 dramas (The Brown Eye Mystery + Hero Legends). The only way is solo shots done in post-production. Guo manages WD so it could be a possibility...

It'll be plausible if "keeping a low profile" meant they kept the public informed, to keep down the chat & speculation.

I personally think they've found more f* ups. In addition to the delays, someone needs to finance this. The bare minimum was to issue a "Bear with Us" - we haven't forgotten you lot.

Apparently he chose to stay when a larger agency offered🙁. Little did he know EG & associates would get cancellations galore. EG had resources & backers pre-2018. Also we don't know if he would've been willing to release him. If he were managed by a normal agency he could've worked more spread out. There's conflict of interests as EG has more incentive to keep him in-house making his films instead of farming him out.

btw- he was in "Ying-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity" with Mark Chao & Deng Lun. It was pulled, BUT it's available on bilibili + Netflix if you haven't seen it.

I agree. His acting's deep & his vibe's different. He's unlucky he got caught in other ppls cancellations. Also, he's managed by Edward Guo who's not liked by the C.Ent establishment, that minimises options as they work in cliques. Guo was semi cancelled when100 industry figures petitioned to get "Ying-Yang Master" canx citing a 2012 plagiarism case. They said it was immoral for him to profit, the film & sequel was pulled after 2 weeks.

Hopefully it's over as EG is back directing Esther Yu in "Cloud Feather". WD has a backlog of dramas - "Sword & Fairy 4" is rumoured next, possibly "Night Traveller" later.

Agree, especially LXY, XZ. But it's Wang Duo for me. He'll make a dark, soulful & v. intense CY. Plus he had chemistry with LYT that made their scenes electric. I don't ship Gong Zi with Wan Mei, but it was undeniable when they were on screen.

There's nothing official apart from the pics & videos of him at the same m.up hotel & what ppl are saying. Cast lists are not always correct as he's listed in China/MDL as on the cast of "Cloud Feather" (Esther Yu & Ed Guo), but he was never on set.

There's no official announcement but there's photos on Weibo & videos on bilibili showing him with a scar & stubble leaving the make-up hotel LYT,ZYC & XSY use. According to comments he plays - Qi Bo Chuan. I'm guessing he's guesting as he isn't one of the main heroic roles but the character is from the book.

Loved him in BR, so it'll be a sort of BR reunion with LYT... In fact, he could also be a candidate for the "dragon" role here. He was wild as Gong Zi & was the definition of brooding, soulful & intense.

As for "Royal Nirvana", I went through 50+ eps hoping they would meet properly🙄. The variety show OP linked - "Wong Fei Hung" kung-fu collab, plus the rest of the show gives us an idea what their team-up would look like.

They were in "Royal Nirvana" but she was paired with Luo Jin. I was hoping they would meet, but she kept her veil on in all their scenes!

She's filming "Hero Legends" with him RN. Her storyline involves him + Cheng Yi this time🙂.
