I think what is holding season 3 is cost and schedule
Cost Netflix is tanking right now, some people subscribe because of this kind of exclusive partnership with the production, if both parties cannot agree on the cost, cost of production versus cost of returns to the actors, staff, writers, crew, etc vs cost that Netflix can afford to pay as premiums to the production team and actors
Remember Netflix is tanking meaning, subscriber is declining because competition new subscribers is in decline,
we as fans of the story may never get to see season 3
Schedule Actors/Actresses/production schedule is another thing set schedule location schedule and permits some location now has strict protocols because of covid you may see the set in the forest, but most of the time the set is made inside a big location that can accommodate the theme of Forest
