Just finished. Initial thoughts:
1. It might be easy to assume this is like the American crime tv show "The Mentalist" or some other series where a genius outsider somehow ends up working with the police, and there definitely are a lot of similarities. To me, however, it ended up feeling more like "Dexter," which was my favorite tv series up until its last season or two. Luckily, "I Remember You" avoids Dexter's failing of not quitting while its ahead (indeed, we really need a second season, like, yesterday!).
2. For once in my life, I could've lived without the romance plotline.
3. I will freely admit that while "The Master's Sun" is in my top 3 favorite dramas of all time, I wasn't impressed by Seo In Guk in that show. This drama has made me into a solid fangirl of his. The entire cast was impressive in this series.
4. Park Bo Gum: I'm about 3/4 of the way through "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds," and I started it before I started "I Remember You," and man, that kid can act. Except for the fact that they share the same handsome face, Jung Seun Ho & Prince Lee Young are so different that I would never have believed they were played by the same actor.
5. The creepy is strong with this show. And I love it.
I loved it till the last episode - I felt cheated out of the reveal (where was the reaction scene for Zi Feng's family?), so my rating dropped from an 8.5 to a 7.5. Then the last scene happened, and I was happy again, and my rating went back up to an 8. ^_^
Very sweet, easy-to-watch drama (I don't think I've ever finished one this quickly), but I feel it's lacking that "special something" to make it stand out from other dramas. Great cast, pleasant storyline, but rather standard fare as a whole. A solid 8.
When I loved this drama, I *really* loved it. The acting, the chemistry between the cast members, the fact that it isn't completely light & fluffy but has some dark elements, all are major points in SWDBS' favor. However, I am not a fan of slapstick comedy or crude humor. A gag here or there is fine, and we've all laughed at a poop joke or two, but sometimes this show went too far, IMO, so I can give this a solid B.
this movie reminds me of American History X in the fact that both are amazing movies that I never wish to see again. also, am i the only one who had to take a few breaks when watching this movie?
