Thought Alone sounded familiar so I looked it up and remembered I saw the Bollywood remake. Anyway, thanks for the list. I'll probably check out A Tale of Two Sisters, Shutter, and maybe Tag Along.
I liked this movie, but self-sacrificing people always kind of annoy me. Those kind of people rarely exist in real life. Anyway, it was still enjoyable and reminded me of my fave Bollywood movie.
I also rarely get SLS. I either like them on their own or just find them troublesome, like you said. Like in A Love So Beautiful, I thought he was kind and sweet at first but his persistence gradually got on my nerves. The one case of SLS I've had was in Answer Me 1994 (I didn't like the main couple that much).
This was the first k-drama I completed (the others before I stopped watching midway through). I really liked this drama back then. I wonder if I should rewatch and see if I still like it.
I know AJ is still hurt about what happened (or didn't happen) in the past. But, the fact that she is so unwilling to talk about it is SO frustrating. I fell bad for HN. AJ should've sat her down and explained at least part of what happened. She could've even promised to tell her the whole story when she's older. But she gets told absolutely nothing! HN is such a great daughter. If this was an American show instead, she definitely would've hated her mother lol.
I think the reason I have a hard time getting into historical dramas are because I don't know that much about the history of Japan/Korea/China. I know a lot of the history of my home country (America) and a lot of the royal history of the UK. Because of this, I've always enjoyed pointing out the mistakes in the period dramas I've watched (for example The Tudors). Maybe, I check out another historical drama anyway. It's been several years since I have.
