the "face" of the woma is Ae Sun's mother's. towards the end of the series, older ae sun ponders upon her mothers life and wonders if she's ever reincarnated into this world. the Editor (the "face") is the reincarnated mother. it also shows us how in the past years the Editor has been linked to Ae suns life (from finding her ring, choosing her squid and now publishing her collection)
Season 1 Summary. I rewatched Season 1 last week: Its a bit of a long read but I suppose better for some than 18hrs of recap. i may have missed other stuff but yeahh...this is basically it. NB: my spellings of the names SUCKS so plz forgive me eyy❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ The neathdals meet with the Saram to negotiate. The Saram need the land of the Neathdals(sp). The Neathdals refuse and this is what sets into motion the attacks on them, orchestrated by Tagon of course. Asa hon is sent into the land of the Neathdals to go and offer peace "gifts". Neonbul's foster father, the doctor, discovered a fatal disease to the Neathdals and that is how the saram defeats them. Asa hon discoverthis plot too late and instead of running away she rescues some Neathdal kids. Years later we see Asa hon dreaming of her child being killed. She begs the person in her dream to spare her child and the person (Aramun ) negotiates to kill the father instead . The father of her kids is a Neathdal. He is killed whilst he has the other twin close by(saya). Tagon takes Saya away. When Asa Hon finds her partner dead she decides to go to a land where Aramun's influence won't reach her child, thus her 10 year long journey to the Wahan clan. She dies as soon as she sets foot there and realises that Aramun tricked her.
8 years later eunsom is sort of an outcast in the wahan clan, but tan ya understands him to a certain extent. He steals a horse (kanmoru) and wants to kearn how to ride it, which is forbidden in the clan... during his trial period for his crime they are attacked by the ppl from Arth. The horse helps eunsom and he fights to free the ppl he can though he fails. During the clans trekking to arth, Tanya curses one of the soldiers and we understand here that she is the white wolf or rather that the spirit is with her. When they get to arthdal a lot of betrayal happens amongst them, the wahan clan.
In his bid to save his people, eunsom holds Tagon's father hostage. Tagon kills his father and blames it on eunsom, who is hunted by the ppl from arth and saved by mubaek: mubaek discovered an artifact from the wahan clan and was told about the sword(eunsom), mirror (says) and bell(tanya) prophecy... the 3 will work tgether to overthrow Tagon who killed his father. This is why Mubaek saved eunsom. Eunsom ends up as a mining slave and meets ppl from different clans there. he is defeated as his friend killed himself and bcz of the torture he went through. Eventually he helps everyone escape and bcz of a debt to one of the slaves, his new journey begins. He goesnto the momo tribe to let the slave's wife know of his death. Whilst there he saves the momo chief's life who does everything to repay him. He is enslaved once again by the Ago tribe: Tagon has influenced them to sell one another. He is freed by a clan of the ago tribe who later try to sell/kill him. Due to his Igutu memory, he goes along with what his friend says about him being Inaishingi and performs the Ago tribe water dance. He is put to the test: he has to survive the waterfall to prove that he is Inaishingi. It is hete that the Momo tribe, a clan with mermqn like abilities save him. The Ago tribe declares him Inaishingi and a "conference " for all clans in the Ago tribe is arranged. It is at this conference that we meet Tagon's spy: she informs him about eunsom which proves why he is well prepared in S2 for the war... *Kanmoru deserts eunsom at some point claiming that he is weak. I am not sure what has suddenly qualified eunsom in S2 now.
For tanya... her father gets to work at the fortress and learn Taelha's clan's way of doing things(it is implied that he is basically working for Tagon here). Due to politics: Tagon falls out with the Asa clan and when it is revealed that he is an igutu, he kills everyone. Be fore this however, Mubaek made him aware of Tanya's heritage and so he conspires to make her the high priest... as a puppet of course. Tanya agrees because she wants power to free her ppl and find eunsom. Here we realise thwt the dance and practices she's been taught since childhood all led to this potential scenario, her finding the bell in the shrine. Tanya's position comes with luxury and her clwn is proud. That mute guy( forgetting his name rn😂) is assigned as her guard: we learn that Tanya's mind reading and speaking ability is getting better. One of the wahanis has bcm a guard and is loyal to Tagon now. Mubaek's brother (the cursed soldier) is sent to kill Nunbyeol's father and her family bcz he was the doctor who knows that Tagon is an igutu, he gound out whilst saving him. When trying to kill Nunbyeol and her sister Tanya's prophecy comes to fruition and it clicks here: Tanya is powerful.
Saya is in love with Tanya because he believes eunsom 's reality (they dream about each others live, the twins) is somehow linked to him. He is unaware that he has a brother, let alone a twin. He is ambitious and wants to be in power after Tagon, he is his father after all... He has a hate relationship with Taelha because she killed his lover. Saya knows that Tanya and Mubaek are hiding something from him and is suspicious about his appearance bcz of how ppl who have met eunsom stare at him...
Nevertheless, at the end of season 1 Tanya has just been made High Priestess, the Asa tribe is no longer influential and somehow Taelhha has positioned herself as their potential ally?, Tagon has just been made a king: he is no longer as compassionate as he was, if we can ever call him that. Taelha is his queen and on the other side of the world, for the first time in 200 years, the Ago tribe is united and Inaishingi is here, to face Aramun(Tagon) of course....
this is unfair to say. both leads had other projects at the time of shooting + life as well. it's no one's loss. the previous leads did a good job and the new leads will continue doing a good job as well
I don't know if it's only me but Disney's film quality puts me off honestly. The filter they use always makes their productions look generic even when the drama was done by studio dragon.. it's quite off-putting. I wish it had gone to Netflix and we would have received a much more vivid drama.

regarding the brother I think so too. He commented that none of his mother's selected ladies looked like the fl and noticed that other bar girl after their friend said she looks like XQ. At first I thought they are cousins but seems like the fathers were just comrades....
