I’d like to share my thoughts. I’m a big fan of this series, but not a die-hard one. I don’t do much research unless necessary. I really hope the drama performs well in terms of reception and ratings to keep the investors and audiences happy, which could lead to a renewal of the series until it completes the entire novel. I’ve been eagerly waiting to see the ending in this adaptation.
I genuinely enjoy the novel and donghua. When I first learned that Yang Yang would be the lead actor in my favorite series, I was thrilled because most of his works feature excellent cinematography, color grading, and location settings. I hope they continue the series until it concludes. One of my favorite weekly activities was waiting for the new donghua episode to drop. Therefore, I hope this adaptation succeeds so that I can see all the characters I love from the beginning of the journey to the end.
I’ve read the novel, but compared to the donghua, I found myself crying a lot more because the characters and their stories resonated with me deeply. Sorry for rambling on, but I truly hope this series does well.
I got really curious and ended up checking out the manga, and they made a lot of changes in the adaptation, so…
I agree. For me, certain aspects of the donghua tell the story much better than the adaptation. While watching the first few episode, I found myself constantly comparing it to the donghua, which left me feeling confused/weird. Now, I try to watch the adaptation with a mindset that I need to forget what I have seen or read in the novel or donghua. I can't blame the adaptation too much, as it was reduced from an initial listed 42 episodes to just 30 if i remember correctly.
Having experienced this story across its novel, manhua, and even live-action adaptations (currently airing), I…
You're most welcome. Well nothing is made for everyone. I'm someone who watches animation based on its art style, so I can definitely understand your hesitation. For me, the longer I watch a donghua series, the better it gets. However, some aspects of donghua, like certain characters and storylines, can be quite frustrating but maybe I just nitpicking it. Its a good watch for me and I hope you have fun watching it😊
This show makes me want to watch the donghua… but I really don’t like that style of digital animation. Does…
Having experienced this story across its novel, manhua, and even live-action adaptations (currently airing), I can confidently say the Donghua is one of the best version. Its art style is exactly what I like, and the visual effects, original soundtracks (OSTs), and background music (BGM) are all incredibly well done. I would say the art styles remains in later episodes but you can definitely feel the upgrade version or jump in quality around ARC 3 of the donghua and. You should try watch it.
Addition, compared to the first episode of the live adaptation (currently airing) and Donghua, I really like Donghua more perhaps because they had to condenses the story into its 40-episode run. Also. I've been waiting for ages for this drama series to drop. I'm happy it finally aired.
