I had this marked on my calendar and was excited to see BL in a kdrama as SECOND ML, but only for it to not have any content of his story like.. at all
I think you see things the wrong way around. I am not criticizing the actors or their looks, but for the character…
The other KBLs you've watched are also very good (I definitely approve), but there are a lot of differences in countries, maybe it's difference in cultures. He wasn't supposed to actually sing at the very end (I was also referring to the concert), maybe it was sung by a whole entire different person, and they don't sing live. Lip-syncing is actually very popular with BLs, I dunno, not all productions are the same.
The writer and directors didn't do a good job, but honestly, I just take what I can get
Well, it's not like every BL can fit like the source material. And to have them kiss and have it 'feel real' is very.. I don't know how to explain it, but for KBLs, that's a little bit much to ask for even if times had changed.
For the comment on the actors, I don't know what to tell you, he's a kpop idol, he can't just change his entire face to suit it. For Hangyeom, maybe his hair dye was a bit much since I'm pretty sure Korea doesn't allow that, but I think at some point he just broke the rules (headcannon).
How are you gonna say that Jinkwon 'fake sang' the song? What's that supposed to mean? Like as if he could really start singing live for the drama? What???
I get that they couldn't push in the whole story within 8 episodes, but that's what you get most of the time when the source material is long and has to be cut short because there aren't enough funds for the drama to get more than 8 episodes. 30 minutes is already a pretty good improvement for the KBL industry.
For the very last comment about 12 episodes and 45 minutes run time. Right, even as it's 2024, nothing really changes in Korea. Even as it's a good Webcomic and is well-known, Korea is still going to be homophobic. It's not easy to make it as we'd all wish it to, but it's what we get, and it's whatever. They respect the author. They respect the audience. It's not their fault that they couldn't get enough funds or whatever they needed to make more than the episodes they have. They would obviously want to make money, but it's also whether they even have the funds to make it.
You should really consider how hard it is to make things in Korea, we are NOT watching a show made in Thailand where they're able to get funds and sponsors because BL is more accepted in that country.
This drama could have been great. I have no complaints about the cast but the director and the writing seems lackluster.…
Am I crazy, or did I never notice the SA? (If it was shown in the last two, I slightly skipped around because of the bad quality, lol) Also, as a Zerose, I approve of ur pfp
I was really excited about this drama (Mostly because I saw Jin Kwon in the cast, and I was such a Homin stan from TMS, it's crazy), and I overall liked it. Most people have said that the last 2 episodes were rushed, and they were (which is rare for me to say because I usually don't notice or don't care, but I guess it was hard to not notice for this show), but still, I liked the rest of it.
Like most complaints, I've realized that the second cp was left off pretty unfinished because they focused more on the first couple. The cast was amazing, though, and I guess it was just the writer's faults. The hate people are giving is a little mean, but I can guess why. Like the Woongdongie under me has commented (Liisa [Stan ZB1 guys!]), you obviously shouldn't date someone you bully (also, am I crazy or did I just never notice the SA?), but still, I can't help but find them so cute.
Even with the internalized homophobia as the main plot for all 3 characters, I don't really mind - I take what I can get, I guess - it's a really important topic.
Anyway! It's still a very good show overall Imo and I could overlook the problems.
it seems a little below average for a kbl. the time and actors were not enough to properly portray these twisted…
Well, I don't think time and actors are really that important because frankly, Korea just doesn't have that for BLs (especially the time part), I feel like it was fine but at the same time, I've only started watching, so
What Jiwoo did was because he was insecure, he was so insecure about his past that he was sure Seojoon would leave him at some point anyway because he was such a pessimist. He left Seojoon to protect himself, to end it before it could happen so that he could somewhat lessen the pain. It's not a good move, and it was mean, but he had his reasons... Like yall gotta understand this
