the family drama was heartwarming at least and kept me watching from the end (and the great acting, yuya yagira, bando ryota and asuka saito are killing it), and it is what keeping me from telling that it's the dumbest jdrama of 2024 alongside destiny. it's a little better, but well from koi no deep ni writer i shouldn't have big hope for this, the writing is quite cheap, and it doesn't really manage to blend genres really well, while others dramas manage to do so. you can definitely blend family drama with suspense, but it needs to have a decently crafted mystery like ryuusei no kizuna for instance.
that was a really dumb drama, most of the characters acted way out of proportions to make some cheap drama and suspense (aoi definitely didn't have to go that far but we can account that to the fear of DV (that's a reach but well some people can buy it), but what about mio, the way she acted was pure nonesense), some of the plot lines are just there for the shock factor and aren't even relevant to the plot (the killer, just here to make you think that there is something big going on with the tachibana family while at the end we don't even know the reason of his crimes lol)
this is so special, without being preachy it's really inspirational in such a meaningful way, with those mundane lives out of the society mold, yet full of hopes, anyone can have beautiful ideas and it's conveyed in a sincere and relatable way...
the actors are killing it, masataka kubota protrays really well someone who's absolutely curious and in love with science without being invasive yet contagious. kobayashi toranosuke portrays so well that furyo dude who doesn't give a fuck about others and genuinely follows his curiosity of the world even if he doesn't know much and aoi ito is really hitting home with her precious emotions, a vulnerable girl yet so brave about moving forward,
i love everyone, really it's such a cute and heartwarming bunch, everyone should try to get to know them, it's by far the best jdrama i've seen in this (alas quite poor) year
i've enjoyed the show's silliness until episode 7, but episode 8 is starting to make drama-original content and…
the whole "ghibli is agreeing to make an AI-assisted anime" is just disrespectful and goes against what the show's discourse about the importance of the talent in craft that money can't replace, and the plot twists are just becoming dumb, like taking a random backpacker gaijin and made him act like he was walt disney? really? this trick worked with hebijima since his face was not known, but there's no way i'd work with someone that is supposed to be famous, people aren't that stupid
i've enjoyed the show's silliness until episode 7, but episode 8 is starting to make drama-original content and not following the manga and it shows, it's not just "a little whack" anymore, but just plain stupid
