I hope the ML is hot... and not someone who's too old or someone she's worked with before (romantically), Maybe Lee Jae Wook, Kim Soo Hyun, or Ok Taec Yeon.
I don't think it's going to work American shows always try to just put characters from every community, race and minorities to build some image and ends up creating a mess.
Of all dramas to choose fromā¦. One heavily centred and dependant on the real life tragic separation of a country and unique situation to its domestic culture⦠is not it.
Thereās simply no American equivalent. Pretending otherwise is just obnoxious.

so many incel comments under here lol. Yes, it's going to be a mess and it's probably gonna flop but all the comments…
Weāre mocking how much American media tends to favour a farce of inclusivity at the cost of creative quality.
Having dramas featuring a black character or gay character etc is not the problem.
Itās how blatantly forced it is in Western shows. When the characters entire personalities are written just to be their race or sexuality.
When a lot of that āinclusivityā they so proudly present is actually quite insulting or not very inclusive at all.
For example āAsianā being generalised āChineseā looking when thereās an entire continent outside of China or East Asia.
Or that despite making painfully sure to have the 4 main characters be 1 white 1 black 1 asian 1 hispanic, they still wonāt have any representation at all of NATIVE AMERICAN. The actual indigenous population they wiped out and genocided.
Or that if a āChinese looking guyā is in, he is always always the ājust the nerdā.
Or that if an āIndian looking guyā is included he is likely to have a terribly fake āIndian Englishā accent, when that is wholly untrue of Indian American citizens.
Or that every, and I mean every drama MUST have X Y Z check boxes of characters, even if makes zero sense in the context of the plot content.
If you canāt see any of that, then I suppose youāre quite the target audience for them.
I can't even explain how happy I am with this news !!
