It’s my hope that Yoo ah in learns English while he is incarcerated. The US would greatly benefit his acting skills. On another note, does Korea have any 12 step programs like AA OR Narcotics anonymous? Just asking
In 2022 and 2023, over 100,000 people died from drug overdose in the US alone according to the American CDC. That's…
My guess is you believe drug offenders (addicts, recreational users, people who become addicted to doctor prescribed narcotics) should be sentenced to our already crowded prisons where they can still get lots of drugs.
It is my sincere hope that he uses his time in prison to learn English. What a waste to have this acccomplished actor sitting in prison for a year. I would love it if he immigrated To the US where he would be lauded for his skill as an actor. I find it ironic how S. Korea has no restraint's on alcohol and public intoxication.
I agree - leave Yoo ah in alone and let him have peace. As an American who loves Asian dramas, I’ve been following what has been happening to this actor. The drugs he was taking were mostly to help him sleep and allay his anxiety. I believe one of the substances they found in his system was marijuana. He had just flown back to Korea after visiting the USA where cannabis is legal. What I have a problem with is the amount of alcohol that is present in most of the dramas is almost the norm. Drunken hookups are usually part of script and at least 1 person has to carried home or put in a taxi because they can’t function. I’m glad I live in a country that has rehabs, and treatment centers for alcohol and drug dependency. Prison is absolutely the last resort. Robert Downey Junior is a prime example of being given a prison sentence (3 years - served 15 months) and got help and is staying clean. He just won an Oscar this year. Yoo Ah In is an extraordinary actor. I have to watch older dramas to see him. I hope when he gets his passport back he visits America again. But this time he stays.
