Actually, out of curiosity I checked and bulletproof/antiballistic vests did exist prior the Republican Era! 1538 for the earliest case in Italy and you have one around the 1860s in Korea ^^

In any case, since they were (are being?) produced after the airing of the drama, they can be easier to fix or find a way around to get a HE.

Oh my god THANK YOU! Now even if the MGTV won't let them change the final ep, I'll take that as canon (I mean, it does come from an original source so~)

The problem is that they can't just cut the last minutes bc it's when San Ye dies (apparently the censorship doesn't allow bad guys going free without paying for their bad deeds).
The thing here is that the producers wanted to take old footage and try to make a montage so the ending would be modified. But MGTV won't let them upload it.
Sadly, for me the ending makes no sense. If Yuzhi had died before or during the final confrontation and not on the street when everything had ended, I wouldn't mind it. But to give them (and us) the hope of a happy ending to just kill him in the last minutes... :(
I mean, I can always close the video before that happens and pretend it's a happy ending! ksksks

If it turns up to be real I'm going to be so mad at MGTV :/. The screenwriter and producers did mess up but at the very least it feels like they *tried*/are trying to fix the mess. Mango TV on the other hand....

I'm a bit lost here. First (on the 25th) they said they would use "old footage to re-create an ideal ending" and that would "hopefully" be up "the day after tomorrow" (so that would be the 27th).

Yeah :s. Honestly I fail to understand the need to make these two dramas compete against each other, even more when they are from different genres to begin with.
For personal reasons I enjoy KaH more but that doesn't mean WOD is worse or that I should spoil the experience for others.
IDK, it just feel sad that instead of celebrating that now we have two more dramas (and more themes/stories are being covered), some are fighting over it?

Come on the comparaison is so unnecessary. They are different stories with different key themes, actors and productions. You can like one better than the other and that's fine but please don't bring this to the WOD channel.
If you want to promote Killer and Healer there are better ways :/

ksksksks at this point I'm just happy there is some sort of "canon" HE. Yuzhi could've slip on a banana peel just before getting shot and I would still be happy about that kkssks

By the way, the screenwriter uploaded a pic with a new ending she wrote. She basically modified the whole scene so Yuzhi is wearing some sort of "armor" (I guess like a thin bulletproof that he had under his clothes?) so even if he gets shot he survives. They both hug, say the magic words of "so lucky to have met you" and then go to cook some food (or that's what I understood from the raw translation).

I'm going to take that as the canon ending. The drama fades to black at 26:55 then what was written happens and everyone is happy and safe~

Edit 1: about the source, you can save the pic and then transform the image to text, copy-paste it and use google translate (I used other online translators and GG seemed the best option).
