I'm actually in quite of a drama slump at the moment. I've been marathoning a lot of dramas lately and it just got a little bit too much for a while. So right now I'm watching two airing dramas, "Alice no Toge" and "Yowakutemo Katemasu", both Japanese and also just started so it's hard to say anything special about them right now; but they're looking good so far.
Otherwise I'm trying to stay away from dramas for awhile to get some space (is it sounding like I'm talking about a boyfriend/girlfriend right now? I mean, Asian dramas is one of the most serious relationships I've had, so I guess it counts?)
No, but i need to focus on school as much as I possibly can right now, it's soon over so I just need to hang in there.
How about you, what are you watching right now? Any dramas you would recommend for me when I come back to dramaland?

Haha, that is very understandable! It's a HUGE culture difference between where I'm from and Asian culture in general. But because I had already watched anime I was used to the cultural difference (I really enjoy it actually) and the language. So I was more used to it, the South Korean dramas was completely new for me, but I still feel like Japanese culture is "the odd one" as in being the furthest away from my own. The only thing with K-dramas was getting used to the language, which wasn't too hard. But Japanese dramas and Japan in general will always be in my heart.

Because I was into anime and manga I was already using the similar site MyAnimeList, so I just looked for something similar when I started watching Asian Dramas. Being the control freak I am I really enjoy keeping track of everything I've watched, but also what I want to watch. And because I'm really into movie creation and such things I really enjoy seeing people discuss the episodes and series in general. And as you said, it's a nice way to find friends. I don't have any friends "irl" that watches Asian Dramas (or anime) so it's kind of hard to discuss it with them.

Hello, very nice to meet you Helena :) (beautiful name btw) And thanks for the friend request, it put a smile on my face.
I found it through anime. I saw a post on tumblr about Japanese dramas and one of them was a live action version of a anime I've watched (Itazura na Kiss-Love in Tokyo) and because I was bored and procrastinating I started watching it; and I haven't quite been able to stop since then. And yes, I do love Japanese dramas. As a person who watches a lot of american television shows I really find the Japanese dramas refreshing and interesting when it comes to the stories and the difference in culture and values.
You're first drama was Korean? Which one was it?

Hello :) And you don't need to thank me! When I saw your DramaList and the amount of Japanese dramas on there I just started smiling. Maybe I haven't lurked around MDL enough yet but it feels like Japanese dramas are some what underrated.
And yes, I fell in love with 1 Litre of tears, mainly for how I found the drama refreshing. And as you said, the family aspect in Japanese dramas is something i really love. It's completely different from anything I've ever seen. It really shows the different in culture and the view of family in Japanese culture.
(And I do apologize for such a long comment)
