I think its a pretty harsh judgement. We need to reason Li Zeng's behaviour with his past. Also i believe that he his jealousy was portrayed just perfectly keeping his character in mind. There was this whole episode where he was uncomfortable seeing Shao xi with the second male lead during their school days. It's pretty brutal to compare any drama with Playful Kiss as that was complete nonsense.
I swear I never imagined while watching the first 2 episodes that I would come to like 2nd female lead's character. It portrays such a cold yet supportive aura around every male around her.
On topic of that I never realized why people are so pissed with 2nd male lead until the last 5 minutes of episode 8. Ugghh he needs to get out of that pathetic state. I really want to like him as his character have lots of potential to develop as a ''daddy long leg'' kind of person.
I can't even! I was thinking to start it next week for binge watching but now i'm having second/third/fourth thoughts! I don't want to run screaming HUMKO UTHA LE BHAGWAN after watching a drama atleast hahahahaha

Then I realized that most of the negative reviews came for the plot which was going around the circle with the male protagonist's character and viewers were just frustrated with no prominent progress happening over the weeks. I still gave it shot half heartedly and really enjoyed the episodes. It took me no time to finish it as it was such a pleasant and small binge watching drama. You should give it a shot again, its really worth it.

I don't know how you are judging her character in such a harsh way, but i think apart from being a little frustrating and obsessive, they haven't lost the true emotions of her character. Even though i don't like the new actress who is playing Eun Jae, but the writers have still made her charter similar to the last season at times. She blocked Ji Won as soon as she realized that the crazy guy was after her and that was very brave and understanding of her. I didn't really like her character up until now in this season, but episode 11 brought my hopes back for her. And with the whole sunbae angle, I guess thats the part of her growing up and gaining experience. Not everyone can be saint all the time. Only if we could get Hye Soo play Eun Jae in season 2, all these things could have gone unnoticeable.
