Yes! I enjoy the movie version a lot, I wish it could have been maybe longer or in two movies though because it went by a little too fast :< I think despite how much I adore Yang Yang, I do like the movie version the best (also the basketball scenes were a little more realistic....just a little lol) but I agree :)
I'm only on episode 3 and I'm kinda disappointed with the game elements but I think I like the relationship dynamics and character development in this version better than the C Version so far. Asahi also seems more "human" whereas in the Chinese version, Nai seemed very unrealistic (even tho I still adore Nai haha) but yeah I think I prefer ofc the Chinese version for the filmography + editing quality, and the general feel but I definitely prefer this version in terms of the characters. So far I appreciate the slight deviation with the storyline with character relationship wise though!

In response to Episode 1 question: his father died but his house was not destroyed. it's likely he went back home to see what happened to their house and tried to figure out hints on what happened, thus stumbling on his father's notes
there's a lot of possibilities for episode 3 (i've finished the series and am wondering that as well) but it's likely that he saw his father's corpse and had a feeling of connection, he could have felt some sort of pull and something in his memory of familiarity when he went home, people could have told him? also unsure if all the servants that could have been at home survived- if so then they'd likely recognize him? i'm not too sure.
