Imo, cancelling a FICTIONAL drama (which very clearly states it is fiction before every single episode) essentially because people don't like how historical figures are portrayed in it is dangerously close to being censorship. And censorship is basically never a good thing. This whole situation is just incredibly stupid and frustrating to me.
I'm probably in the minority here but I still genuinely like this drama. Yes, the writing is kinda messy, but nevertheless enjoyable. Also, I don't get all the Sabin-hate tbh...
As soon as all the time-travelling started happening, the plot just completely stopped making sense. Also, I think this drama did a really bad job at making one care for its characters. Shin-jae is still somewhat interesting to me, everyone else not so much. And I hate how Tae-eul was basically reduced to her love for LG. Pretty much her every scene is either her with LG or her crying because she misses LG or sth similar...
While I do enjoy seeing Jichul again and hope he gets to clear his name, at the same time I want Jongbum to return at some point. Or Jichul should at least regain Jongbums memories imo.
Who told the writer it was a good idea to have CHB and possibly also GJC return and therefore basically start a whole new storyline? With only five more episodes to go? Honestly, until the latest episode I had some hope that they might manage to wrap this up somewhat satisfyingly, but this is just getting messier and messier and probably won't end well...
Personally, I would've liked for Dae-gil to get over Un-Nyun and end up with Seol-hwa instead... I also really liked the whole plotline about the slave uprising. And even though I found large chunks of this drama to be quite draggy and boring, the ending still made me super emotional. Overall, it was a pretty good drama, albeit with some major flaws.
