I haven't seen Breath and didn't realized he was in that one.
My favorite of him is The Chaser, the director of this movie is also the director for The Yellow Sea and likes both lead actors because both are also the leads in The Chaser.
I will now check out Breath and watch it, I love Ha Jeong Woo's acting.
If I may recommend another film that by your description in your profile you might like; is another film with Jeong Woo, although not Asian, this film is an indie American film, also starring Vera Farmiga an awesome actress. Never Forever. You will like this film if you like dark/mature romance.
Which brings me to say, Bi-mong is not exactly a happy movie. You said you like happy endings or satisfying ones. Satisfaction is a very dangerous word, because it is relative for everyone so I don't now what you would make of the ending in Bi-mong. Haha.

Is another movie of Kim Ki-duk.
It was the first one I watched because one of my favorite actors is the lead, Odagiri Joe. But it is another weird, yet compelling story.
I also watched his Samaritan Girl, which has gotten many good reviews, but I'm sad to say I did not like it as much as 3 Iron or Bi-mong.
Bi-mong is like a horror love story, but it won't scare you, is just kind of satirical in the horror aspect.
I think you will only be able to find it in download sites.

I also love Addicted. Im a Lee Byung Hun fan. But I came here because of your 3 Iron review which is everything I felt for the movie as well.
Have you watched his movie Bi-mong?
I love this man. I watched Bad Family and had a blast all the way through... he is such a good actor and whatever he plays he excels. I have seen him in BV as well. ^ ^

Yes. This is were I will agree with you that the writing sucks in terms of plot. And as I will tell you in my message, part of the reason why I have to now say I agree that the characters are not exactly written with excellency, is because the plot lacks in so many aspects that it has hindered the enrichment of the characters.
There are many things that are unnecessary, and it lacks many necessary things. Yet, it has managed to pulled me in, and I want to see what will be of Kang Ma Ru. Im hooked with HIS story. Ill explain why in a few lol... I knew you would dislike it even more after episode 9 and 10.

I had to come back, Im a crazy woman I know LOL
There is much I didnt say, and I agree with you in so many other things I did not addressed. So Im thinking that because of time right now I wont do justice to our discussion.
When I get to work, I will write you my thoughts, very clear, and in order like this: Writing (plot, characters, dialogue); Characters (Maru, Eun Gi, Jae Hee, president, and lawyers); and last, directing.
Alright, so I own you that much. Remember our discussion on 49 Days? ^^ I feel we are on to something here haha.

I can understand why you dislike Eun Gi. And I would have acted differently in many occasions, as well. But I have met people that are pathetic and just don't make sense, and that is life. Something is pulling you to the story, and is not only the acting.
Now Im really leaving, lol.

You don't have to root for them to be together or live happily ever after, you can just root that they stop hurting each other. That, I think is the purpose of the writer. Maybe Im just being too good to the writer, and he or she just accidentally created that LOL... but I see it as what it is, painful, and dramatic. There is no way it will be happy and wishing for it is too much to ask at this point. Im just rooting they find peace. And like I said, that is a purpose.
What I find really mediocre is the plot. If it weren't for the acting and the characters, the drama would be really stupid.
Like you pointed out, there are too many loopholes in the story. I could go on. But right now I have to go to work. Ill be back though hehehe.

Yes good points Rita. However, I have to say that I don't see the characters as being excessively dramatic as the story itself. Like I said, the only good thing this story has going is the characters, in my opinion.
Although you think they aren't well written, I think they are in the sense that they are not one dimensional. I can completely understand what sort of person is Eun Gi, and yeah, she could be pathetic, which she is in some cases. And that is the beauty of the characters, none are likeable, yet you wish for them to find peace, which is in a way, a form of also hoping for their happiness and rooting for them.
Help needed: please someone reassure me about the characters of this show. Please tell me there is at least one…
I dont mind sad endings in a drama as long as they are justified and essential to the story. Real life is not always a happy ending. Here we are being presented with the sad life of a man, which can be worse in real life.

So, it might just be this fiction is playing hard at beating truth. Although like I said on my previous comments, for it to have been perfect -in my eyes- they should have paid more attention to plot development.

Hahaha, dont laugh at me. I am truly obsess with Nice Guy.
Okay so, before you go on writing me about your thoughts, which episode are you on? Because by episode 6 these were my thoughts, although there was much more than that but for the sake of not spoiling the drama I was restrained.
Now Im thinking of writing a follow up to my first impression and then I will not be restrained! But I want to discuss with you before I go on writing anything. Either way, read my first impression and then we can go ahead and bring out the layers of hate and love I have for this drama.
Rita I have left comments on the Innocent Man page. Also, just hit me with it woman!!! Im here desperate because I have not enough people to discuss this drama with and there are many things to discuss. I think this drama will take a 9 from me. It would have been a 10 if it weren't for the loopholes on the plot... how the plot has developed it is all very fuzzy, but the characters OMG... I just love how they are written , each single one.
Help needed: please someone reassure me about the characters of this show. Please tell me there is at least one…
Another thing that sucks at the moment is the tool they are using to bring Ma Ru and Eun Gi together once more, although it failed apparently because Ma Ru wants to take advantage of it to push Eun Gi away. However, I think it is better explained, it is less unrealistic giving the events that triggered, which by the way was a bit over the top, but yet again we are watching two miserable people become Human.... that is what I think the end would be. The only thing that could give us a happy ending, whether they are together or not, it will be for them to become Human once again. AS it is now, they are just miserable and broken in all sorts of ways. I cannot wait for Eun Gi to return to her old self, because you know she will ^^
Help needed: please someone reassure me about the characters of this show. Please tell me there is at least one…
Hahaha girls, you are funny.
I happened to like both leads, although Ma Ru gets on my nerves I understand the type of man he has become and I like the character more multilayer than when he was 1 dimensional goody two-shoes. I think there is never a clear line between good or bad in a person, the feelings are mixed, and Ma Ru is right on spot with it. I love how the character is written, and the things he does are totally on character with him. I wouldn't say the same about the plot.
First: the beginning episode, I still feel cheated out of the jail part. He goes to prison for 5 years and we never see it happen, we are just told. I think that totally sucked.

Hahahaha. Rita!!!!!
Yes, there are lots of things that I dislike about the plot. But this is a story entirely driven by character development not plot. The development of the plot sucks, its rushed where it shouldn't be and its slow where it should be rushed. Let's just say the writers have put so much detailed and time into the main characters they have forgotten about plot... but tell me please, what are your thoughts?
Although there are some issues with the story, it is driving me up the wall. It has done it for me, I cannot watch any other drama but this one. I suppose I am truly addicted now, but to this one drama. And it is all thanks to Kang Ma Ru, and Seo Eun Gi. Both characters are awesome, I just don't have words for how real the seem.
Nway... cannot wait for your thoughts, good or bad. ^^
