I really like Zhang Yu Xi but she looked so different in this for some reason. It keeps throwing me off :(
finally, it’s not just me! I started it months ago, and decided to continue just a few days ago but I find my self either suddenly pausing it and looking for something else to watch, or I’d instantly just focus on my phone. I’m thrown off as well to continue this drama because she looked so off here I dunno if it’s too much make up or if it’s plastic surgery. she looks too artificial to the point that it’s hard for me to get invested with the whole series…

yes same that’s the two series I couldn’t finish 😂, I’m still waiting for them to announce when will the legend of the female General air, I think that will be my most favorite series from Zhou Ye

yes, I couldn’t stand her in everyone loves me her character was so cringey there. you should watch her movies my favorites are yesterday once more, and moments we shared. for the series, love her in back from the brink and scent of time :) and super looking forward with LFG because the novel was soooo good and I think strong characters and drama suits her well.

This movie only cemented my love for Zhou Ye, I knew it! she’s incredible! a formidable actress indeed aside from her pretty face she’s really talented and can convey emotions well. I love her so much. this movie is by far the best & my most favorite, of course yesterday once more is part of my top 5 best Chinese movie.

Definitely, I agree. It was because of XL and CX that I stayed for season 2, and yes I dislike the FL too, she was tolerable from s1 but became more and more unbearable, she's too self centered, pathetic, and oblivious. As if the world revolves around her, still feeling so deprived despite the sacrifices others did for her just for her to live the life she wanted and more freely than others. Nian had more character development and maturity tbh.
Okay hear me out, I posted my opinion yesterday on the review section. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but heck it’s my personal feelings, thoughts, and sentiments.
XL was my main reason I looked forward & patiently waited for Season 2, but yes I read the novel while waiting for it to be released.
As season 2 came it was XL and CX that made me hang on to stay, even if it was becoming unbearable to watch because of how more and more selfish and pathetic XY and TJ was becoming. Not everyone may agree with me, and that’s okay, but don’t come for me. Character development wise it’s really XL and CX, acting wise too!
Let me just rant how problematic XY is, how she keeps on using her past as her card, and as an excuse to be so pathetic, selfish, and self centered, as if she’s carrying the whole nations burden lol, while diregarding the sacrifices everyone made/did for her just so she can live her present life with a lot more freedom compared to what others have. As the actress who portrayed XY I don’t know it seems as if every wuxia and period series she does she gives off the same performance, I don’t dislike her but It doesn’t stand out, like Bai Lu, Zhou Ye…
Anyway, to be honest XY & TJ deserves each other they can just leave and be on their own bubble (unrealistically), for disregarding the greater good, for being too out of their heads, and nonchalant about the pressing matters, the sacrifices and hardships others are doing and goinf through.
I was so icked when XY was ranting on CX (Ep12) she’s too way above her head, and she’s becoming less and less likeable.
Anyway, XL may be a red flag for some of you, and he may seem so cruel in your eyes, but let me remind you… He was never sheltered at a young age like TJ, he never knew what it’s like to be loved, cared for, and so on, so he doesn’t really know how to properly assess and handle his feelings towards XY, and besides that his gratitude and loyalty to the person who helped him out in the past is admirable, but eventually somehow became a burden when he realizes his feelings towards XY, but he’s selfless, He sacrifices his own personal desires for the betterment of his troops, multiple times he helped XY, and the other ML’s even if it was breaking his heart. There’s so much I want to talk about, but XL is the most remarkable character in Lost you forever, and he will remain the most memomarble character too.
Nah, he’s painful to watch. And not in a good way.
I know a lot of people are rooting for him, but I just find him too pathetic, it may be seen as a green flag of how devoted etc he is, but after re watching s1 and now watching s2 it only affirms my views towards him, he’s not just pathetic, but he can be calculatrice and manipulative too, and he’s unrealistic tbh, yes he’s good with business, but as a leader of his clan he’s doing things unresponsibly tbh.
Am I the only one not rooting for TSJ x XY? anyway I’m tempted to pay for the early pass/access for the 3 new episodes 😂 I thought I was going to wait so long, that I started watching season one again, thank god my weTV subscription is still active!
luckily I have YOUKU so I’ll give this a try though I’m not a fan of the FL (don’t come for me) is it really worth watching? I really liked the double since it was such a refreshing series and of course for the ML & most cast were part of scent of time 😂
I agree with you wholeheartedly, but after reading the rebirth of a Star General, & once He Yan (Zhou Ye) for legend of a female General gets aired, she might probably become my number one FL (that’s not helpless and cringey) but yes Ruyi is an excellent strong FL and she was never annoying at all. He yan, and Ruyi are the best FL ever imo.

this series is quite interesting it’s a typical revenge series but it’s quite enjoyable, the only downside is that I find the FL oddly bad looking, I mean there are angles where she looks okay, but I can’t really stand to stare at her for long… I don’t know it off putting. I like her maid servant though she was the maidservant in scent of time where the ML was also the ML in a scent of time, how I wished Zhou Ye was the FL for this. Oh and the Princess from the Kunning Palace is here as well she’s the one engaged to the supposed fiancé of jiang li.
