Love ZeeNunew but...
I watched the 'making of' documentary for this series before the show aired. I saw the decor, heard the budget and thought this had the potential of being the BL of the year.
I'm now wondering where all that budget went. Not into story and character development, that's for sure. Honestly, the look and feel of everything is amazing. It's like watching a hollywood royal fantasy. Lots of colour, silver and gold, flowers, extra's, locations, etcetera. But this does nothing for the actual storyline. And that disappointed a bit.
The actors were doing an amazing job. Zee and Nunew were made for eachother and we can see that. Jimmy and Ohm acted their hearts out in their scenes but i dearly missed parts of their story. How did everything turn out this way? Neither was their story wrapped up in a satisfying way. It's like scenes were cut in their parts.
Then there was a FLF couple. At least, thats what I saw. Nothing was done with them, however. A missed opportunity.
That left just the main love story and the mystery and politics to form a good story. Unfortunately, it was not good enough to fulfill the promise of the documentary. I did enjoy it, as it is a very underlit genre in BL, and it was very intteresting to see how is was handled and it was certainly entartaining. But it could have been much much better
