It's BounPrem, so...

I really want to give an honest review of this BL, but due to being deprived of BounPrem for way too long, I fear this will be a very biased review instead.

The atory starts off really well. Mystery, thriller and first strike of attraction are certainly present in the first half of the series. But not all is well in the world, because someone was afraid to make real choices.

The series could have been a hilarious comedy, but there are too many dark and moody moments for that.

It could have been a real thriller, but the comedic element thwarts that.

Of you want to mix comedy and dark thriller, make the comedy dark as well! Tarantino proved it can be done after all.

The romance is also off. For some reason, the kisses are very low key without even a trace of sensuality. While the scenes we get in the flashbacks to Punn's dreams are all that, what happens irl is only a fraction of it. It's also weird that Punn keeps calling Ramil 'Khun Ramil', and Ramil never addresses that.

I had hopes for Por and Mekhin, but in the end that's a complete dead end.

Barcode does a good job as angry Ciar, but is suddenly all smiles without a real heart-to-heart.

The issue here is clearly the lack of real choices. The result is a limping and stumbling show. Entertaining? Yes, but hardly memorable.

If it were anyone other than BounPrem, this would get an average 7.5 rating from me. But because it's them, I will give it an 8.
