What exactly are her values though? I'm confused here..How can a business sustain while being continuously in…
I think MCH is the antithesis of "emotional." She has core values about how a business should be run and people be treated. The whole hotel in the mountain episode proved this. She has years of experiences under her belt and know how to calmly analyze a situation and take decisive steps.
Where YZM idea of managment is to fire people lol.
I must say I'm quite surprised at people being surprised at the grandmama's choice.
It was crystal clear from the beginning, and through many events that MCH would inherit her hotel.
Even though YZM sprouted some last-minute humanity, he still intended to gobble up the hotel under Boticelli. MCH is a person after Grandma(s own heart, She knew MCH would fight to the end to save the hotel while witholding her values.
As Grandma said in her farewell message, she gave YZM a family in the Mai and a home where to finally root himself. This is the most important gift she could ever offer him.
As she also rightfully said, she trusts his ability to have and maintain a successful carreer, what he is missing is not money or power, it's warmth and soul and a place to call home.
I hope this drama will open new doors for Gala Zhang. I found him to be a fantastic actor since watching him in a drama few years ago. I hope he will get better quality dramas and play lead in them.
OMG . . . In the last episode, the scenes at the dressmaker, grandma wanting to learn how to film herself, the lawyer and CH mom wanting to take care of the grandma, literally gave me chills, it looked like it was building up to the imminent death of the grandma, I was holding my breath until the very last second TT_TT They better not kill the cutest baddest grandmama ever!!!!
Didn't realize you can shake the sheets and that much water comes out using that method. Now I'm going to have…
I also think it depends on the textile? I know that silk would completely splashes me out, but maybe full coton sheet would soak in more water! You better come back to give us the results>/
I feel like the missing piece to understand CH's mother is to remember that she is poor, comes from a poor family, and a simple life accident like a pipe flood can upend her whole life.
She has never known safety, and as she said herself, resigned herself to never knowing it. She has to just accept a life of hard work and scraping by. She dreams of a simple life.
Some would say that's already what she has, but it is false. You cannot live on a precipice and lead a peaceful life. To feel peace, you need to feel secure; to feel secure, you need to have money to protect yourself from the uncertainties of life.
She is absolutely driven by fear and anxiety, and they are both her worst advisers. And that is something her family understands, and that's why they are so accommodating.
She is like a cornered animal seeking a way out whatever the cost. Her fear and her hopes drive her decisions. CH was right to say her mother is using her to fulfill her own wishes and aspirations for her own life, but she is not even aware of it.
She wanted better for herself and never got it. All her hopes for betterment were transferred to her children; they need to succeed where she failed. They need to do and be everything she wasn't able to do.
And she feels they owe it to her for all the sacrifices she made for them.
I will say people who are poor or come from immigrant families will probably resonate a lot with this family dynamic and have more room for understanding her mom than most.
This post was not to excuse her poor decision-making skills, but to explain her to people who see in her almost a caricature.
I can assure you there are hundreds of thousands of Cheng Huan's moms in this world.
ugh I donβt have the attn span for 35+ episodes.
The episodes go by so quickly though! Didnt thinkI could withstand a so long modern drama, but so many things are happening and the directing is great, so times flew.
