janice kinda look like song yi and they are besties as well
Okay I didnt see it at first, but after your comment I rewatched her scene, and there is something of a resemblance in their face structure, but that's as far as the resemblance go for me, they are of course both divinely beautiful, and love both of their voices, even though I have a slight preference for SongYi's, she has a very unique voice.
Didnt expect to like it so much! Just checked it out for BJT, stayed for the awesome action scenes, intriguing story and goofiness! Episodes are passing so quick!
My only complain is BJT makeup, good god, is it that hard to find the appropriate skin tone foundation?!!!
What's this 'yoyo channel' and "yoyo tv" written above as "where to watch"? never heard of anything…
One of the companies officially in charge of translating and distributing the drama to international audiences. Their work can be mainly found on YouTube.
Cheng Yi is now taking heavy backlash for his recent rude comments and lazy behavior. On his recent brand livestream…
Can we actually have a link to that, because everything here can be misconstructed. His words during the live could have been taken out of context.
Also the two other critics are questionable. Actors who cannot speak proper standard mandarin without being heavily accented are many, Xu Kai for example.
Also, since he is the male lead, maybe due to time constraint he didn't have enough time to gobble up his lines for a specific scene. He is probably not the only one having to resort to this tactic, but usually director are clever enough to edit this out.
I'm not even remotely a ChengYi fan, but that seems being blown out of proportion. Every time a high profile actor see their projects being aired or cast in high profile projects, they will see themselves in hot water over everything and nothing, and its even touching on malicious marketing campaign. It's Cdrama sharkland for you. Just have a look at Yushuxin, Xukai and Eleanor Lee.
How about we do not become the echo chamber of slander?
I think if there is quite a bit of disillusioned feedbacks it's because people had high expectations for the match made in haven that is ChengYi and Wuxia.
People expected in-depth characterisations, a strong engaging plot, a soulful storytelling, astute directing, up-to-part visuals: lighting, camera work, colorgrading, set and costumes and the perfect OST to tie it all.
This drama is underperforming so far in about every area minus fast pacing and fighting scenes.
It overall feels like the creators of this drama didn't feel they had to put in any work because they succeeded in grabbing ChengYi, and that he will solely bring the viewers to the shore. Which he did, but if the story is not able to keep people wanting to comeback to it beyond watching ChengYi in black and white hair, it's going to fall like a soufflé. We can only hope its just a underwhelming so-so start, and that the best is to come.
Nah, there's definitely a lot of things that are off. Set design, comedy, plot, presentation. However, as objectively…
I wasn't going to say anything about his acting, because I thought maybe it was a me thing, since I didn't see him since MLB so I thought I may have overhyped his acting, but since you may be of this opinion too, well. It's true that here he seems to act on a surface level, like he is never really into the character, it's very bizarre I never saw him "act" like that in everything I watched with him. Maybe it will improve in the next episodes idk.
Can ChenYi "fans" take themselves out, and let viewers of this drama discuss peacefully this drama plot, CGI and acting without being the target of ridiculous attacks because no one can touch anything related to your parasocial beloved?!
i know some will disagree with me but its just my opinion:6 episodes in, it's fun but i cannot say i'm hooked.…
I agree it's lacking somewhat of a soul.
I think it often happens for transmigrating stories when the story gives you no measures of the actual person we're supposed to engage with, and just dump you straight in the story. Even the scene when he sees again his mother is so lacklustre and flat, when it should be a moving moment and even be a central piece of the episode.
For now the story seems to only rely on "funny moments" mainly based on how lazy he is. I don't know how far along you can carry or engage your viewers on that alone.
