A very interesting article! Made me want to rewatch the drama and opened my mind to a lot of things I missed out…
I also found the watch experience very unsettling and disturbing! There was never a moment I wasn't on edge or majorly creeped out. It's quite draining to watch because of it, so if there were more than 10 episodes I'd have had to take a break. I was already stressed enough haha. Thank you~

You said it ALL!! Amazing article!!His character was really memorable for me too! I find him just as scary and…
Thank you~ Yes, Moon-Jo definitely has more brains and patience.

Thank you for this.It took me a year to go back and finish the last two episodes. It scared the Bejeeboz out of…
SFH can be a very uncomfortable/disturbing watch, so I can understand that long break. Yes, Ki Hyuk was definitely presented as a prototype of sorts. I wish he'd stayed around for longer as well because he had a lot of potential, but considering everything he did for the narrative through his death it was inevitable (and possibly best he did die so early on).

A re-watch never hurts haha. Thank you~

My favorite drama. This drama is a 10 in many ways. If you start to dig deeper into this drama you start to realize…
I agree. I'm always on the look-out for dramas of a similar nature. But SFH truly excels at what it does, so it can be hard to find one that measure up.

I... actually feel like I have no words for this article. This is written incredibly well, and you got your message…
Aww thank you so much. I'm happy you enjoyed it. I've also been on many Ki Hyuk photo/gif searches in my time but there aren't many. So the few quality ones I do find I treasure haha. It's nice to see another person as intrigued by him as me.

Ah, at the beginning of episode 8 (roughly three mins in, I think) there is a flashback scene with Moon Jo and Ki Hyuk talking at a table. Moon Jo tells him he overheard Ki Hyuk talking on the phone. That's when his friend's betrayal and family situation are mentioned. It's only one line of dialogue in the entire show, so it's very easy to miss.

Extremely well written! I totally agree with how Ki Hyuk was basically Moon Jo's vehicle to prominence in the…
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed reading. Yes, Ki Hyuk is a key player in setting Moon Jo up and I'd say that was one of his more if not most important roles considering how dominating and charismatic a character Moon Jo is.

Dammn a longass thesis for such a minor character. Wish you did all that for jong woo, his descent to madness…
Yes, I did get a bit carried away with this one. I had too much to say haha. I would like to sit down and analyse Jong-Woo someday because, as you said, he is fascinating, but it will take significantly longer. I need to really hype myself up to get started haha.

Have you read strangers from hell manhwa? :)
I've only read the chapters that are available in english, unfortunately. What little Korean I do know isn't enough to understand the rest. Have you?

I was also completely hooked when I first watched SFH. It was the first drama I binged in well over two years and remains a favorite to this day. Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed reading~

This drama is a night -mare for me 😅😅 I will never dare to watch again. But this drama is a masterpiece…
I can see why. There's something inherently unsettling and disturbing about it. It's definitely not for everyone haha.

thanks for the excellent article!I'm an avid fan of strangers from hell. it's a drama that when I watched it left…
Oh it's nice to find another Ki- Hyuk fan! Seok Yun was also a favorite of mine! Both characters left the screen too soon sadly. I've played scenarios out in my head many times imaging what things would have been like if they'd survived longer. But I think the beauty of both characters is that they made such a big impression in the short time they had. Albeit for very different reasons.

oh my god, this is an excellent article!! Thank you for writing it! I watched this drama a month ago and it easily…
Thank you! I'm glad you found it interesting! It's amazing how much Ki Hyuk does for the drama and other characters despite how brief his role is. I don't think I'll ever get over how he's written and what he does, but then again I'll never get over SFH, it's that good haha.

Couldn't have said it better myself! I had a really good time reading this article~It made me remember lee hyun…
I'm happy you enjoyed reading! Lee Hyun Wook really did incredibly well in this role and it catapulted him onto my radar. I now actively look out for projects he works on. Generally, I find the characters he plays interesting and it helps that he plays them all so well. Ki Hyuk is one of my favs of his (if that wasn't obvious based on this post haha).

idk if i made this clear but i am emphasizing a difference between jong woo and the tenants. him having a mental…
Thank you for your comments! It was really interesting reading your thoughts, specifically your take on Jong-Woo’s character. I agree that his mental break is not necessarily a representation of his innate nature, rather it was something forced on him and it represents what he (and people in general) are capable of when put under such stress and conditions. Even in the end, there is still a distinction between Jong-Woo and the other characters because we witnessed his journey, while the others were always presented as evil. We had context and a human connection with him. He’s a fascinating character and how he both relates and contrasts to the rest of the character roster is so interesting. I’d love to sit down and properly analyse him someday.

One of the things I love most about SFH is how manages to explore the human condition so thoroughly in only 10 episodes. You really touched on that aspect very well in your comments. I wasn’t that knowledgeable about the Metamorphosis parallel beforehand. I’ll need to read up a bit more on it because based on your comment it seems to layer quite a lot with the narrative and Jong-Woo’s situation.

I’ll add your recommendation of ‘Trap’ to my watchlist, it sounds right up my alley. Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it!
