Overall, Everyglow was a nice movie. I had been trying to watch it for years and finally could today. After years…
I did think some scenes were cut short, the scene where they get into the water together could have been really heart warming, as she helped him overcome his fear and trauma, but it was barely a few seconds and we didn't have time to enjoy the moment truly.. The second half of the movie was better than the first, as we see their feelings change and grow, it was well executed. The hesitation that comes with their current situation, yet the love and care they found in each other was really beautiful.
Overall, Everyglow was a nice movie. I had been trying to watch it for years and finally could today. After years of expectations, it's bound to be a tiny bit disappointing, but I'd still recommend it. It was sweet. The acting was great and the story was heartwarming with a bittersweet ending.
It was a good movie, it was touching and had an interesting way of telling the story. I cared for the mother very deeply... Although I enjoyed it, I didn't like it as much as I thought I would from hearing about it online. I am usually a cry baby, I cry fairly easily, but I only had a few tears during this one, I thought it was gonna wreck me but I think that's partly because it wasn't explored as deeply as I expected or wanted, in the end, I longed for more, I wanted to see and learn more about Yori, his story and his possible future... I gave it an 8/10.
This was a very pleasant surprise. This is a heartwarming story, the actors did a great job and I loved the dynamic between every single character. It was sweet. The OSTs also managed to get the emotions through, the story telling and writing was very well done. Would have loved to see more of Dr. Lin and Le Ge's dynamic, I wish I knew more about their friendship and past...
First movie in a while. And what a pick. This movie was something else. It was as beautiful and heartwarming as it was heartbreaking. It perfectly showed the complexity of these women's friendship. The ups and downs, the circumstances, the difference of life, opinions and personalities and how growing up and decisions can make you drift apart from people you love. The portrayal of both these characters was absolutely breathtaking. The way the story was told allowed twists to come surprisingly. I couldn't call out for nost of these twists. Everything was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere, the characters and their development, the story telling, the cinematography. You almost felt like you were part of the story, they take you in very naturally. Highly recommend this gem, to cry your eyes out for two hours.
I watched 20th Century Girl because it was on the recommendation list under Soulmate. Those movies do not have the same atmosphere at all. It's a nice movie to watch once but I feel like it's for a younger public. I am 26 and I felt fairly bothered by the main female character (I actually do not like most of her drama because of her acting, but it's personal preference..). The romance overrode the sismance. Half way through, they want us to care about the friendship yet we barely ever saw the best friend and I personally could not care because she appeared too suddenly. The misunderstanding was very obvious right from the first 5 minutes... The ending? So many stuff happened in the last 30 minutes, more than in the first hour and a half... the ending felt rushed and lot of questions were left unanswered and that was fairly annoying so I couldn't quite get pulled into it. To resume, the sismance was clearly not the central point of the movie and I really didn't care about the romance although it was cute.
I had loads of issues with this drama... I loved the beginning, I thought it would be interesting to see a character navigate his disability and learn to accept it. It was all but that, in the end... lot of issues were pointed out by previous comments and I agree with them. On the plot and writing though, I wanna add that it reminded me of how a Wattpad story would be written... all surface, one layer... I don't know if it was the translation but I rolled my eyes way too many times... the dialogues were extremely cheesy (I love cheesy, it wasn't "good cheesy"), most of the scenes were obvious and in the end it didn't feel deep or touching... I hope to see more dramas with main characters with disability in the future though, I try to watch them when I fall upon them but other than Japanese ones, I haven't found much that was well done.
I saw that a manga version of it came out in France (my country), wondered if anyone knew if the English version existed ? Because I prefer reading in English!
It was in fact cute but I felt quite bored... I usually like the idea of childhood friends to lovers but I couldn't quite get interested, I lost interest almost immediately and ended watching here and there. I also felt like most of it felt unnatural, not sure if it was the acting or something else but I sometimes uncomfortable watching it... or maybe I am not the right target anymore...
Moonlight Chicken was pretty nice to watch. It was simple and neither too quick nor too slow paced. The characters were quite interesting too and the complexity of Wen and Alan's relationship was a nice surprise. Jim was not that great of an uncle for most of the series and I understood Li Ming's frustration perfectly because talking to his uncle was like talking to a wall (the all : "isn't being poor enough, now you're gay" was painful to watch and i knew he was gonna say something like that) I liked that Li Ming ended up getting help and support from Wen early on and his relationship with Heart was quite nice. Although I remain confused as to why Heart is unable to speak. I read a comment on that before watching the series and assumed it was just selective mutism, I think some hard of hearing people decide not to speak because they feel more comfortable that way but Heart was physically struggling to speak and I am left confused as to why, there was no explanation and I feel they simply went for a stereotype without actually reaching to hard of hearing people who could have helped with his character.
It was pretty good! The relationships were well navigated and I liked seeing how much the school brainwashed its students, especially Akk. I do feel like I am a bit left hungry for more. Although a couple of things surprised me, most of it was expected and I do think they didn't go as far into corruption and control as I wish they did. In the end you wonder how they managed to go so long like while the power was shaken quite easily here. Akk and Aye were really sweet though and First and Khaotung did an amazing job!
i am French and I know exactly what Nio told Eri when they talked about how even French curses sounded nice in Ep2 and I am shook!!! Man didn't choose just any random curse words DAMN 🤓 (If you don't know : "Go F*ck yourself" and "Suck my D*")
I swear the casting was a big failure.. Eun Jae in season 1 was so natural in her character, and she was one of…
I rewatched this after years and did not remember how unbearable Eun Jae was in S2.. i have social anxiety and am a people pleaser so i relate to Eun Jae in S1 but i skipped through all her scenes in S2...
I've just rewatched this drama i really loved and i wondered if anyone wondered about Eun Jae's brother? Most people on the Internet talk about whether or not her father tried to kill her mother but no one talks about if he actually did give his son a deadly anaphylactic shock on purpose...
Good thing was: it's entertaining, I can't deny that, with all the dramas that takes place, it has to be entertaining.…
Boston is a mess, he's so selfish, it's terrifying, he belittles other's feelings and acts like nothing he does is ever a big deal and that everyone is just overreacting. I liked that he was actually excluded from the group, he deserved it. His seemingly redemption arch in the 10th/11th episode ended in a twist I should have expected (but I had hope somehow). Nick was one of the characters I felt the most for although he did something pretty terrible, it didn't compare to the others. He was a sweet boy and should have found someone better. He was so bewitched by Boston, he was ready to accept anything and he's young and that's a mistake lot of us do, but gosh he deserved a sweet loving caring partner. Top, my my, during the first half of the series, I hated his guts soooo bad, and in the end, I have mixed feelings. I feel like it's okay he was forgiven (he took somehow responsibility, apologised, and tried to make it up) and at the same time, I don't think cheating should be forgiven. Mew, I loved him at first, a lot, he was my favourite, and then with the whole Top plot going to hell, it seemed like he changed so damn much, he was a completely different character throughout the second half... Ray, gosh. That man did so many things and almost never truly faced the consequences of his actions. He cheated on Mew after begging him to give him a chance, knowing full well that he had just been betrayed the same way. Why wasn't he treated like Top ? I get the whole "Mew kinda used him" but it doesn't equal to cheating when he lied to Mew's face. The amount of tantrums he threw, the amount of times he destroyed his friends' fun. His alcoholism and drug use is barely talked about and his rehab should have been made a bigger part of the series in the last few episode, but it seems like he never really struggled. He could have killed someone in the tunel. Everyone forgive him everything and he never faced a 10th of what Boston faced. The whole pool thing was ridiculous and I hated his guts at the end. Too much. So self centered, he didn't deserve Sand at all. The way he encouraged Mew in his self destruction was disgusting... he helped him drink, smoke and take coke wtf. The whole "I want to protect Mew" narrative didn't make sense after episode 7/8. Sand is okay, he was a 'normal' character, I guess, made mistakes but wasn't as bad at the others. I do think they made his feelings for Ray so obvious in the beginning and then it kinda faded though ? Cheum and April were the best! We should have seen way more of them!! In the tiny bits we've seen of them, they seemed like the only sane ones!
Good thing was: it's entertaining, I can't deny that, with all the dramas that takes place, it has to be entertaining. Plus, it features great music!! It's a story that revolves around a friend group, their betrayals and relationships, basically it's all the story is about. Don't expect a sub plot like most other BLs, honestly not a problem for me, I liked that it was only focus on that, I didn't mind. Now, let me start by saying: they're all f*cked up in the head in one way or another. I've never seen a friend group so full of dramas and betrayals and issues. It's a mess, I rolled my eyes so many times, I sighed loudly as hell and even pushed away my laptop to get up and vent. And I always ramble so be ready... sorry in advance it's too long!
Hmm, I enjoyed the first season so I thought I'd give it a go. Honestly it wasn't bad but characters like the…
The TA was a good guy, but his love interest was quite the red flag, the whole black mailing thing for a date that turn into a love story ? No. How even? And then guilt tripping him into whatever after he left in the morning ? Yikes. Nothing was good about that guy.
The main one was ? Not sure... the whole story was messy, some flashbacks didn't look like flashback so I felt confused. The whole creepy guy plot was resolved way too fast and way too easily for how much they built the creep (guy literally jumped off a roof to frame his best friend/crush/soul brother as a killer, then went around campus telling the story to make sure he remained a pariah). Like come on, he ended up being like "oh okay you're not turning into someone like me, well too bad, bye then" ? That was such a weird sub plot ?
