Title Marry Me!
NEET stands for "no employment, education, or training". You can look it up, but in Japan, after university,…
thanks for the info! i did an online search also, but i think there is limited info since i'm searching from the US. the NEET program sounds like a 1930's era CCC make-work program. the unemployed are given jobs to keep them busy. this FL young woman was actually a recluse who had very little formal education. i think the govt was just marrying her off to keep her productive in their culturally correct way. i'm on episode 2 and i really like the way the 2 leads are so sweet to each other and getting closer without cringiness. <3

Title Marry Me!
from MDL's description above....new government program under the so-called "NEET protection law". This project pairs from government employees with NEETs as a means to rehabilitate them and re-introduce them into society. can someone please translate this "NEET" japanese adjective/description? i'm considering watching this. TIA.

So frustrated! I was happily watching the first episode on HITV app. and all of a sudden the app went crazy and I got an error message to update to the new version which has no content. It’s trash. The HITV website is also messed up with a pop up telling viewers to download the app. Where in the US can you watch episodes after #4? You Tube has ep 1-4. TIA. I’m in withdrawal since this is such a great show.

What an amazing movie, it took me a while to gather the courage to watch this but I'm glad I did, as a gay guy…
I agree with you about disappointing/sad ending/depressing LGBT movies. There are so many that it’s hard to find any with HE. Luckily there’s many series out there that show gay men in a more happy and non-depressing light.

i really would have loved if this series ended at episode 10....which is where i'm jumping off this merry go round. i'm giving it a 7.5. i really loved the ML and his personality to always be there for his love, the FL. i don't give a damn about his hair style, he was gorgeous, and his voice was so nice, you could get lost in it. i could not stand the FL, always bickering and chit-chatting. frankly, the time shifts just gave me a headache. i would have appreciated much more time with the 2ML and the other characters, especially FL's brother...he was adorable! the sheer number of episodes of many C-dramas is sometimes staggering, and unless the plot moves along or you're fully invested, it's a no-go for me. i am currently watching the C drama "will love in spring", and i am in love with the story (love story of a spunky amputee and a mortician). there are 21 episodes, and i am regretting there aren't more. another C drama i'm watching is "winter begonia" about a chinese opera star (1930's). this has 49 episodes, but i am totally engrossed. the music is just so wonderful, and the leads are over the top. the historical plot that surrounds the opera star is very compelling, the japanese colonization of china. so, in the end, if the story and acting reel you in, 20 or even 50 episodes aren't a problem. just MHO.

Wow. Thanks for the heads up. Are there any alternative streaming places with decent subs? 🙁

starting to watch on Netflix now, and i'm totally invested. great ML, Saitoh Takumi. he's putting all his energy into the part, and it shows. SO many comments here on MDL about the show and its commentary, but can't find any spoilers about HE or not. just for the record, i have suspended disbelief. i'm just watching a funny/quirky/loving show. someone PLEASE spoil it for me. i don't want to go through 6 episodes to find he's had an abortion. i'll cry ugly tears. <3

In episode 2 where our drummer girl, Akane, is trying desperately to create the sound Naoki wants (time stamp around 16:00), her playing appears possessed. It hearkens back to the wonderfully dramatic scenes in "The Red Shoes" (1948) where Moira Shearer is dancing furiously for her mentor, the red shoes seemingly driving her crazy. totally giving me the crazy musician vibes. what a great show so far!

Title The Treacherous Spoiler
i wanted and really tried to turn my head away at some parts. it was riveting to the point that i had to pay extra attention to the undulating plot. but dittoes and amazing job to all the main leads, especially Jun Ji Hoon, whose face and emotions could draw you in like hypnosis. Kim Kang Woo (the prince) did crazy so perfectly that i literally cringed with most of his scenes. The OST made this chilling movie more palatable and enticing by the addition of ROK traditional Pansori used in the narration. what a real surprise and a treat! more ROK series and movies should make use of this amazing music genre that but for the grace of G-d may have disappeared through Japanese colonization. Not sure if the spoiler button is necessary since i won't be giving specifics....but the last 30 seconds of the very last scene made my tears of sadness and heavy heart do a quick happy double take. please watch this movie and give it some love for the actors going above and beyond their comfort level. watched on amazon prime in the US.

This is the movie Qi Yu and Qin Xiao were watching in EP 5 of Blue Canvas of Youthful Days
Another Easter egg for you. In episode 11 of The Sparkle in Your Eye, Pei Jia and Su Yi are also watching East Palace West Palace. It’s apparently Su Yi’s favorite movie. The dialogue of the on-screen movie is where the one actor professes his love for the other. Totally made my heart stop. Two cutting edge movies tugging at your heart strings.

The theatrical release also consistently misspelled "Dalian" as "Dailan" which was annoying and frustrating, hope…
Fixed! Watching on HULU 7/3/25. At 24:00. Dalian is the way it’s spelled in English. I don’t read Korean so I don’t know how it’s spelled in native language. Apparently someone heard yall. Great movie so far! But you gotta realize it’s a war movie and it’s gritty. KHB delivers!
