That potato man is like a third wheel. It's not his story. Why didn't he say a word all these years if he really loves her. Is he a coward? Plus he is too clingy and it annoys a great deal. Actually men that are all smiley and sweet are even more dangerous than bad boy type. With time this good boy will become just like that professor from the beginning of the drama. And will make a hell out of your life. And all those balloons and flowers. You know in real life they don't look sincere.
