Actually, I did love and respected Haishi's response to FJM aproches all three times: I loved the hairpin scene, I loved so much the way she was angry about the engagement letter and I loved how she responded after his love confession (because he really treated her poorly, and I know it was for her good and he was also miserable because of it, but he kind of deserved that moment of despair and heartbreak, sorry)
What are your most favourite scenes in this drama which you replayed and watched it many times?
Actually I love that moment when Haishi brokes the hairpin which Jianming gives her, the wedding scene (I find some of the details so beautiful) and the aftermath of it (obviously for different reasons - the moment FJM cries was my first crying during the show, and again when she speaks about being his wife, and then they hug and he just forcefully closes his eyes) and then the scene when he tells her that that he always planned for her to enter the palace and she screams 到底是不是假的 and he is unable to answer (I always interpreted that scene as him not being able to say anything because he is trying not to cry) and suddenly has so teary eyes, or the moment when FJM is daydreaming about HS under their tree and then she comes in reality (i love his face expression in this scene), and then HS realizing he loved her and protected her all the time, and then the time FJM confessed his love for her in 45 and their time together in village...
And isn't it funny how it feels like they are back to their roles at the start of the show? She's just a woman…
Yes but no in some ways ... I think that the fact that both of them love the other and already accepted that feeling makes a difference ... Like there are so many different kinds of love and being able to respect someone I love and cherish the simplest of things is (i think) one of the quite beautiful. I don't know, at least for me the most torturous during the whole drama was that FJM did not allowed himself and HS to have that mutual acceptance and kept pushing HS away ... But in the end of the drama, there is no reason for that hiding away, they can have so many peaceful conversations together, rise the emperor(and their child?) together a teach him what they consider important and so on.... And last and not least, there is the small hope that one day, the emperor will be grown up and they will both be in a way to old to serve Dazheng, and be able to finally retire and spend the last days of their lives together... I just love the not so concrete feeling of hope I get from the ending...
yes, u are right! She has been listening to his 'lectures' and even the little boy can tell that the mother likes…
I know :( But I just choose to not think too much about it because I was so sad for her when she was was crying about not having a future with Jianming, and I was thinking like, everything other is possible, if one day Dazheng has peace again, but not having children, because if that day comes, you will be too old for kids, like 100% sure, and that was just so sad thought... So when someone told me, that it is heavily implied that she has a kid with Jianming, I was just so happy for her and refused to think too much about it :D

Yeah, I know that ... I did not realize while watching (my chinese is not that good yet ) but someone pointed out for me... I was smiling like a fool , because I was quite hearthbroken during the end battle scene where Haishi imagine what their lives could be and than starts crying when she speaks about having children together ....
One last thought I wanted to share, cause I am thinking about the drama whole day (that good it was) that in quite strong sense, their situation in the end actually IS better than it was in majority of the drama. At least I think so, because unspoken love/ or not returned love (which is Haishi like majority of the drama forced to believe her love is) is one of the most hurtful things ever...
Or the part when Jianming pushes her to harem and she believes that all the things he said night before were just trick to get her back to capital. And from Jianming's point of view it is even more cruel: he is purposly hurting her (and consequently hurting himself) because he thinks he is going to die and wants her to not miss him after that.
But all that hiding from their feelings is not possible in the end, they know they love each other and they can probably cherish some small moments (you know, the little crown prince says something like you enjoy his lessons also right, doesn't he ? That does not sound like Haishi and Jianming haven't seen each other for all of the five years) and have some hope for the future (and hope is one of the biggest helps in every situation) ... I am not even imagining the happy ending because it is quite hard to imagine concrete ending which would be happy, but I imagine that feeling of hope :D
Haishi is already pregnant with FJM's son, indicated by 36:50 in episode 48.
Really ? Not so sure because the last part of the final episode happens 5 years later and there is no kid :/.... But I thought the same after what the mermaid said.
Actually, I loved that ending. Because It maked perfect sense for me. I was quite sure that Tilan is going to die like from the middle of the drama, because she is that selfless person, which is prepared to die for others (remember that part when she chosed to not eat the medicine and rather die, because she belived that she reminds the emperor too much of her sister), and it was unimaginable (even not logical) to survive with that kind of personality. And the emperor, was it not kind of better ending for him, to die together with someone he loved, than be once again the one who survived?
As for Haishi and Jianming, their relationship was always about conflict of duty and love. Actually that was the thing that made this drama interesting for me, the real conflict between two strong powers which both are valid but go against each other (every ancient greek tragedy has this type of conflict: because ancient Greeks belived that the tragedy begins when both desicions are right and you will harm someone whatever you choose). And like, we all saw during the drama that duty is important for both Jianming and Haishi, and that their love was possible only when there was peace in Dazheng (you know, those pigeons Haishi arranged to be sure that everything is ok).
Also, in my mind, there is entirely possible the happy ending. Because, Di Xu's son will grow up one day and that day, their duty ends. (they will be to old to care of other things). And If Fang Jianming does not die before it (and we know that his health is getting better), there isn't any good reason for Haishi and Jianming to not live together (they probably wouldn't have children, because they'll be to old for it, but they still could live a quiet and peacefull days together).
