Title An Ancient Love Song Spoiler
I don't get it...
are really the last two episodes just the same as the first two ones or did just a weird thing happen and lot of platforms just wrongly uploaded the first two as a last two ones?

The costumes, the set/scenery, the fights, all so beautifully done 'chef kiss'! Most times, when watching, one…
Also I heard that some people who are fluent in Chinese does not like the emperor performance because of how he speaks, because he apparently cuts every syllable when he's performing angry scenes, which takes them out of the story cause its not natural ...

My chinese is nowhere near fluent (I am always so happy that I understand some parts finally :D) so I did not realized it at first, but then I tried to pay attention to it and he really does that.

I don't know I kinda liked them both, like I have some FJM/ FHS moments that make me emotional even when I watched the drama five times already, like the goodbye hug he gives Haishi before they leave for the prince Chang birthday event - btw that's just so great scene and so well acted, Haishi has such a relaxed smile because frome her point of view, they are finally together, but he looks like he is trying so much to not start crying because for him this is a goodbye, or the scene of Haishi officialy becoming Chunrong fei. :)

If this is WeTv then it probably won't be subbed unfortunately. They have not been subbing any of their drama's…
She and her perfect husband is listed as an upcoming drama on the kisskh.me webside and they normally provide subtitles 😊 So, that could be an option for you 😊

Hai Shi had a child with Fang Zhu right?
There was discussion about it and ... Maybe ? If I understand correctly, it might be implied in the way how is crown prince addressed in the last episode...but my Chinese is not good enough to confirm or rebute

I cried a lot.. it's not a fair ending. More like a tragedy. Everyone died 😭
I get why you think it, but I thought that at least for Di Xu dying was better than to be the one surviving again... I was kind of expecting Tilan dying for a long time (like aroud the middle part of the drama I was like she cannot survive this) so I was not suprised by her dying and I am kind of happy because Haishi and Jianming both survived ...

since you have watched so many times, I have a question for you: who is Zhou You Du? Is he the second male lead?
He is not a second male lead, that would ne probably the emperor. Zhou Youdu is someone who falls in love with Haishi, makes Fang Jianming jealous, and, at least as I interpret it, is the one who persuades Fang Jianming to pursue a relationship with Haishi...

Yep... still watching. 3rd time around.Just can't break away yet...
Hahaha ... 4rd time around for me. (And not counting how many times I saw some of my favourite scenes)

And not speaking about the unpublished fanfic :D

I enjoyed it even more after rewatch 😊
Yeah, this time I discovered two beautiful scenes which I did not pay enough attention the first time

1) after Haishi reports Zhao shu died, the practicing martial art flashback scene and the poem

2) the scene where FJM attempts to catch a Jifeng hua but it cannot catch it

like, I saw them first time but it seemed better this time, more meaning to it (and it is so well executed, with the camera and music and face expressions)

Title Novoland: Pearl Eclipse Spoiler
Hi any kind soul can spoil me the ending? I'm currently at ep 35 now and the plot didn't seem like it's going…
Well, if the ending is happy or sad apparently depends on your perspective as a viewer - if you look at discussion here, lot of people considered it very sad, lot of people considered it quite happy, lot of people considered it not sad not happy but logical/meaningful ending. Tilan and the emperor are dead. Zheliu and Zhuoying are alive and together. FHS and FJM are both alive, but because of their respective duties cannot be (at least openly) together. And baixi is still involved.
It can be considered as sad ending because in a way the drama ends where it begins.

I personally consider this ending happy, because at least for me, the tragedy of this drama lies in uncertainty about feelings of someone who you love (on Haishi's part) and hurting someone who you love because it seems to be the only way to protect him from even bigger hurt ( on Jianming's part). And that is resolved in the end, it's quite certain that they both are aware of their mutual love and also there is some hope for them in the future...

Sorry for so long comment :)

Lost in translation. Clearly audience know she didnt said his name so ridiculous subtitle change it. πŸ™„ like…
I think that A-Li calls Yehua 爢亲 fuqin, which means father (its bit formal), but Su Jin calls Yehua (and Haishi Fang Jianming in this scene) 倫君 fujun, and that means husband :)

Yes..I do get she sacrificed her life for a political marriage..It happens all the time in ancient times if you…
That's valid interpretation :). May I ask which country are you from ? (It is ok not to answer, it's just, I find different perspectives fascinating and often ask myself how much our cultural background influences our point of view)

That's not what I ment, maybe I did not express myself clear (English is my second language). I did not mean I was crazy about her love with Dixu ( I do like FHS and FJM relationship more).

What I ment is, I quite admire is her as a character and her own choices and sacrifices. And that admiration of mine started in ep 24: Some episodes before Dixu realised that he really hurt her with that abortion medicine and he asks the doctor to cure her. But in ep 24 its revealed, that she actually never took the medicine and planned to die, because she does not want to hurt him anymore (hurt him by looking similar as her sister). And this moment is just...wow. To put someone's well-being before your life, not because of love (I don't think she loves him in this stage, she is still afraid of him in later episodes) but because you don't want to hurt anybody is just...wow.

Guys, am I the only one who admires Tilan quite a lot ? Because I have a soft spot for this type of heroines in my heart and I was wondering, if it is possible, that its a cultural thing... You see, there is this archetype of heroine (I do't think i know a man like this) in Euroamerican literature: these women are prepared for sacrifising themselfs, their lifes, thier comfort or their dignity just to make someones live better (Sonya Marmeladova from Crime and punishment, who prostitues hersself to make money and save her younger siblings from hunger; she never complains about it and just accepts it as something what must be done; Beth March from Little Woman, who helps the poor Hummel family, develops scarlet fever and in the end dies because her health is fragile due to this incident; Frances from Bukowski's poem One for old snaggle-tooth). Its just different type of sacrifice, differnt kind of goal - from the Bukowski's poem: but finally when I think of her life, and compare it to other lives, more dazzling, original, and beautiful, I realize that she has hurt fewer people than anybody I know, (and by hurt I simply mean hurt). ... and if you look at it like that,
well, she has created a better world. she has won; And from the moment in episode 24, where it reveled that Tilan refused to take the medication in order to die, because she understands that seeing her must hurt Dixu, I just could not help and associated her with this archetype and also to admire her and consider her brave in her own way....

well I'm glad it's over now! I can officialy say that I'm extremely disappointed by this drama. It had a great…
It's absolutely ok to feel like that :). I think that different people have different experience, different definitions of love and different ways to express love, so consequently, differently people consider different ways of acting as a good chemistry (I admit that I can't watch dramas with too much sugar, because I find that cringy, childish and not authentic...). And for me Pearl Eclipse was a drama that got the strongest emotional response from me ever. I believe that it worked for me because of my personal history: I have an experience with putting away my feelings because of a duty (although it was very different kind of duty than in drama) and the way WCH portraits FJM and his feelings for HS, the gestures, concrete things he does, the development of what he does (for example the fact that he is quite good with acting cold and just as shifu when he thinks, that Haishi loves someone other, and how its harder and harder for him to act like that, when he realises that Haishi loves him, not Zhuoying and he is acting more and more as a person in love and not like shifu, and than he kisses her because he just can't resist anymore) just fits me experience. But again, even unspoken love probably has so many ways to be expressed and felt, and someone other who has experience with it can find this portrait of it unconvincing :)
