I agree with all the points you make - though I cannot say I thought it was a "beautiful episode". But a lot of…
You have such a thoughtful response. I was shocked by some of the comments concerning Episode 3 because after the lunch scene, I was riveted to the screen. I'm not Thai but have visited Thailand, and I found that Thais will tell you things between the lines if you will listen. Hetero dramas do not address these types of issues unless it's a setup for the MC to be an advocate for self-aggrandizement. I can't think of any main characters who used to beg in the streets.
I was not brought up Christian, and I'm not a Christian. was brought up in a church that is not sin based and I have asked ministers if there are any Scriptures against LGBT and was told no. I think that Buddhism is the same way. That's why all are welcomed, even foreigners who just want to look around, as long as we behave. I can't wait to go back to Thailand. A former monk was a tour guide of mine and he told me many things about how to act. One of the temples I visited with him had boys living there so that they can get an education. They do not have a similar setup for girls though.
I hope the rest of the series continues the meaningful stories. The 3rd couple being a boy from the streets with a guy born with a silver spoon will be interesting.
Ha ha true that, along with chicken fights, the syndicate, etc. I was taking a little bit of a jab at the "masterpiece" (a show that I like don't get me wrong) where people on the boards were ripping each other instead of just staying on topic.
Tend to agree with the ex…it was just sex. A fling with someone he barely knew and wouldn’t see again.much…
Ball met the goal having as many random hookups as he wants, and not having to deal with the gays in this series when Nut left him. Ball realizing that Nut left him was once of the best comedic moments in Ep 1.
Beautiful episode, one of the best I've ever seen in any drama. It wasn't about the acting, cringe or otherwise, or the scenery but the many messages that were woven in under 30 minutes. This episode covered so many topics that I was blown away. This episode showed how corruption and power will be maintained at all costs, even murder and that corruption negatively impacts all. One of the protagonists has a history of begging, homelessness and addiction, which in many societies would be very difficult to comprehend. The homage to King Bhumibol Adulyadej and his wisdom was a great tribute to a still beloved King. Also, they weren't afraid to show how Buddhism grounds most Thais and the temples are their place for solace as well as celebration. For this episode I am able to overlook the flaws in order to take in the messages.

Bruce Lee developed Jeet Kune Do based on his philosophy as a martial artist. My brother was a stan before there were stans, that's why I know about him. His movies were filmed in Hong Kong and to be honest, I don't know if they are in Cantonese or Mandarin. I just read somewhere that all Kung Fu movies from that era dubbed dialogue in the studio. That was probably due to the physicality of the fight scenes and they did not have the technology they have today to edit that out. I do not speak Chinese but grew up with a lot of Chinese and Japanese immigrant kids. I'm part Japanese and do not speak that either. I've never heard of Elite so I've never seen it.
I prefer subs over dubbing. I love the movie Raise the Red Lantern and I can't imagine it being dubbed. The actress Gong Li is very expressive and I want to hear her voice.

Boat isn't muscular like Bruce Lee, but I felt that he was styled like Bruce Lee circa Fist of Fury with the bangs, shirtless, and workout pants. Nice to look at but not defined like Bruce Lee.

He is lean and muscular, very little body fat. The way he moves is with such force but grace. Unfortunately, most of the movies have been dubbed in English. I read somewhere that nearly all Hong Kong era Kung Fu movies dubbed the dialogue, but I would rather hear the Chinese dub.
Edited to add: Bruce Lee often played characters who wanted to ensure justice prevailed. I don't remember his playing a villain, but it has been many years.

This project has posted many behind the scenes videos with English subs and now I'm a Boat fan. I thought they were using Bruce Lee as inspiration to style "Sun" so I went back and watched some Bruce Lee stuff and OMG! It was nice going down memory lane with Fist of Fury and Enter the Dragon.

I chose that screen name because every time I accessed this website before making an account, I always got the captcha to prove I wasn't a bot.
I am sarcastic person, so I thought your post was funny. But shouldn't it be Wee Too?
I have to say that I love Boat and the more he is on screen, the more I like him. This is his first BL so I never heard of him before. He stole my heart when I watched a BTS video where he coached Gun in the scene with the roses. I wish they would have switch the roles in that scene after watching it.
It brings back memories. Two years ago you had to wait 4-7 days for subs so it's not that bad these days
JayBL had great subs too. It's amazing that they did this all as fans and in my opinion, if it weren't for the fansubs, Thai BL would not be the international phenomenon they are today. The subs are what brought international viewers to the Thai BL shows.
To all the people who are saying the dialogues are unrealistic, I feel thoughts like that do come out when you…
I really love the dialogue. I think it's intentional that this discussion was used to convey the philosophical differences between the characters. Real people DO have discussions like this but maybe we have lost some of our ability to have deep discussions outside of a classroom due to the constant inflow of information from the internet. Without any electronic stimulation, JM and Reb had to utilize the abilities we are born with. I feel like this production respects the viewer with the assumption that we can follow along.
I hate sound effects soooooo much! They are so distracting from the show and it is lazy writing. If something…
I wish they would use writing and acting instead of sound effects too. This story has so much potential that I hope they don't ruin it with cartoon sounds. The subs aren't up yet, but hopefully the sound effects are either soft or very few.
