I haven't watched the 4th episode yet. I heard the other guy (I haven't gone back to watch Ep 1 to see who he is) call out Siwoo. Since I can't figure these characters out, I get confused. Thanks for letting me know the character's name.

I'm one of the confused people. Who jumped? I can't figure out who he is. I'm spending too much time trying to figure that out so I can watch him during the story part. Thank you.

I know that during the time IPYTM aired, many people wanted Oh to dump Teh and move on with Bas. Maybe that's why the reconciliation scene was so short, because they knew it was stupid. I'm getting a Teh vibe with Top. It's all about him, his feelings, his goals, and Mew should just go with the flow.

Go ahead and vent because I think many people thought that IPYTM ruined it for the whole series. Someone on the Community board asked for toxic, BL, I recommended ITSAY/IPYTM because in my opinion, Teh is one of the most toxic characters in BL. Haha

I think it's his character, but I also think he may not be as experienced. Mew is the dude who only studies and focuses on school, and is serious 100% of the time. Book's face is the opposite of RBF, so there is a little dissonance between Mew's looks and his personality. Mew's world is about to be turned upside down, so we will see in upcoming episodes if Book's acting will be a problem.

I do not usually like this type of show, like Friend Zone, but the acting in this series is so good, that I'm watching this train wreck.

My dream is that Mew dumps Top and Ton. I'm still carrying the baggage of Oh not dumping Teh in IPYTM. just kidding/not kidding.

Most BL authors are female, and this is a common plot device in hetero stories. These stories have the jealous mean girl, who persecutes the sweet, innocent main character because she wants the man who likes the sweet girl. The innocent, blameless protagonist is also used in movies and novels. One example, although old, is A Walk to Remember with Mandy Moore.

I like this little series even if they unnecessarily painted gray hair onto the grandma. I've seen people drink way more than this, I've even drank way more in my youth. The guys in the military make these guys look like bubble tea drinkers.

I think the evil girlfriend trope is alive in Asia because there are still men who feel pressured to marry women even though they are gay. So I think BL, mostly written by women, want to find a way to not blame the man for being oppressed, but create another figure to represent "society" in this situation. It's usually an evil woman, or parents. That's just my take on it, but I could be wrong.

I agree with this sentiment. She is heartless, so no empathy for her.

Fair warning, the novel has rape. If you can't stand that, hold on to the series and skip the novels.

I don't usually like these urban toxic stew dramas, but I was pleasantly surprised by episode 1. I'm not sure if it's the actors, or that I just lived through Neo and Drake, and kept thinking of My Tee, and just how wrong it was in a comical way.

The beauty of many Japanese manga is the diversity of characters. I read Korean webtoons, but they are mostly hot, rich men, rape, sex assault, happy ending, yet they are very popular. The storytelling is circa late 1990's, early 2000's Japanese manga. Love Mode wasn't even as toxic as some webtoons today. I love who these actors are playing these characters.

I read the manga a few years ago, and I was not disappointed by this adaptation. I loved the story, and the acting, especially Sakurai, His facial expressions alone would carry me away. They had to heavily censor the manga, but I think they did a great job in the adaptation. It stuck to the main points of the manga, and did not shy away from the heavy parts. This is the first Japanese BL where I felt actual sexual chemistry, I'm so used to the Ken doll, dead fish kisses. Except for Ep 6, I enjoyed this series from start to finish.

I watched 2 episodes and I didn't bring up ways to punish the production, even though in my opinion, turning a romance into a bromance is censorship to meet the law. You explained the reasons why well, and I understand, but I never blamed the production or the actions. Thanks for making. yourself clear though (not sarcasm).

This show makes me laugh too. Akira is such an idiot at times, but Shin just loves him, flaws and all. People do not get the tsundere trope. This is Akira and Shin's life for the next 50 years.

The government caused the cancellation of Addiction Part 2, that's just a fact.
I'm did not say to punish any of the current production crew, nor am I angry. This is a show, not my life and I have a different opinion. It is a cash grab though because this series was one of the most popular BL shows out there, and fans have wanted to see part 2 for years. I am saying this iteration does not resonate with me. I did not blame the actors, in fact I wished the actors success. It's interesting that you think you are entitled to read minds and put words in people's mouths. I did not say people should be punished or downvoted, you did. I get that you love this series, but you don't have to make things up and state people suggested things they never suggested. I'm glad that you love the show, but this show would not be so different if not for government interference. I will not respond to more whataboutisms. Have a nice day.

I know that fans translated 2 volumes of this story. Vol 1 is how they meet and fall in love as students, Vol 2 is their lives as working adults. Maybe that's what the chatter is about. I'm not sure. Thanks for letting me know what's going on.
