I'm sure the truck could have covered the distance that Tai walked in a matter of 30 minutes or less. I'm not…
Then they would have been picked up between 9:30-10:30. No way Pat walked 200 miles haha. This was the only dud episode. I hope they recover next week.
Thank you for correctly referring to the kiss as non-con. I think that Pat kissed her back, that's my opinion,…
I normally do not participate in the consent/SA discussions on this board because although I do NOT condone SA in real life, most of the discussions are superficial, or university speak. I also do not condone kink shaming fantasies that other people have. I entered the BL genre through manga, where kinks are more acceptable. I'm not into non-con, toys, or group sex, themes, but a lot of women are. So many Korean webtoons are full of rape and sexual assault, but this same generation (sorry, but I can tell by their arguments they are mostly young) is gobbling it up like Christmas candy. They then go on forums and act like they are appalled.
I don't watch dramas other than BL, so I'm not sure about that scene with Tay, but I can believe that it was excused away.
So I guess Lomfon was right all along about a coincidental frequency people might have that allows them to hear…
Thank you for correctly referring to the kiss as non-con. I think that Pat kissed her back, that's my opinion, but others saw the situation differently. If Pat was just an innocent bystander, and Nara swooped in for the kiss to the point where he had a fight/flight/freeze response, then it was non-con. Fight/flight/freeze is a response to a perceived aggression or fear and is triggered by the amygdala. The only reason I am rubbing this in is, MDL viewers are usually hysterical over a drunken kiss, a sleep kiss on the cheek. Yet a woman can kiss a man without his consent, and the bees have stayed in the hive. Is this misandry, or a hypocritical, sexist double standard?
The most interesting even of this last episode is Lomfon being the wizard of the soulmates, where he can hear both Pat and Tai. I hope they explain this in Episode 9.
I am gonna ASSUME Pat found Tai somewhere around early morning (when the sky is still dark) . That could explain…
I'm sure the truck could have covered the distance that Tai walked in a matter of 30 minutes or less. I'm not sure why it took all night, or why they were laying in the road.
I was surprised Pat didn't address that accidental kiss with Tai.. something is missing somewhere.
In my opinion, the kiss was not accidental, Nara intentionally kissed him, and Pat kissed her back, as demonstrated by the scenes in this episode. He only had Ken doll lips in the extreme close-ups, otherwise his lips were puckered, which was the fault of the director and post-production during editing, if he did not reciprocate. But I'm old enough to be able to see if a person is kissing back. If the theory is that Pat was not a willing participant, then Nara SA'd him, which normally spins up the MDL hivemind. But since a woman was the assaulter - silence.
Either way, Pat should have addressed it, and not let Tai rationalize that it was okay. It reminded me of those catfish stories where the scam victim finds any piece of dust to rationalize the behavior. All roads lead Tai to feel he has not good enough, and a good almost boyfriend would have tried to reassure Tai, instead of stone faced silence when Tai was pouring his heart out.
No Pat didn't explain it. He obviously was puckering his lips, and he let her "force" him for a very long time.…
I think that Pat kissed Nara back because you can see him pucker his lips. Since 95% of BL actors are probably heterosexual, the directors and production need to be looking out for this.
I'm pointing out the double standard regarding the SA because some viewers are saying that Pat did not want to kiss her, that it was all Nara. If that's the case, it was SA. MDL is so self-righteous about consent, and SA, so if Pat didn't want to kiss Nara, it's SA.
No Pat didn't explain it. He obviously was puckering his lips, and he let her "force" him for a very long time.…
I agree. I think they should have noticed it, or made only very long shots or back shots if they did not want to do too many takes for Tai's POV. I understand that these actors are mostly hetero, so it's up to the director and production staff to catch this.
I felt like this was a throw away episode, which is a shame because it could have be very sweet and nice, since they finally became boyfriends. Hardly anyone is discussing that Tai and Pat are now boyfriends, which was the point of the episode (I think).
This episode was a disappointment to me so I will be a little sarcastic. Pat x Nara situation, and Tai running to the mountain was useless to the plot, because Pat never apologized, nor did he explain. He just confirmed Tai's assumptions, and threw him a lame, I Love You bone. Pat's friends were blaming the one guy, but they were all stupid for setting Pat and Nara up to be alone. I guess they hate Tai and prefer Nara. Pat was obviously puckering his lips (except in the close-ups), and let their lips stay connected for a good 10 seconds. It wasn't their first kiss, Pat knows what's up. If it was against Pat's will, then it was non-con. Where are the usual pearl clutchers who come around, ready to give us a lecture on SA when another man kisses a sleeping person on the cheek, or gives an unwanted kiss to another guy? Is it misandry, since Nara SA'd Pat, since he did not consent, according to some viewers? Tai running uphill, with a sweater and no water for hours, even in Northern Thailand is a good way to get heatstroke, but he recovered very quickly. Sleeping in the middle of a road, and the friends waiting until the next morning to pick them up was pure idiocy. Pat and Tai would have needed hospitalization for dehydration in real life.
I'm pretty disappointed in this episode. I'm curious about Lomfon being able to hear both Pat and Tai all of a sudden. Lomfon has known Tai for a while, even during rainy, and he has never heard him before. People might get mad at me over this post, but sometimes we need to have a laugh over what I see as a disastrous episode, in what has been a pretty good series.
did they even talk about patts kissing his ex back ? feel like they keep glossing over the biggest thing tai is…
No Pat didn't explain it. He obviously was puckering his lips, and he let her "force" him for a very long time. When you don't want a kiss, you would immediately create distance. Tai was being an insecure idiot for thinking Pat is better off with Nara. I'm chuckling because MDL is usually the SA/non-con enforcement arm, in addition to emo branch. Yet according to some viewers, Pat did not kiss back, so that means Nara "SA'ed" Pat, where are the the MDL cops? I know this place is full of kids, but I know a reciprocated kiss when I see one. Pat did have the Ken doll lips in the close-ups, but not in the long shots. Maybe Pee is straight, and it was natural, but they should have caught that in continuity. If he didn't want the kiss, especially if it invoke a freeze response, should they have talked about the female on male SA? If Nara was the ex-boyfriend, this board would have been lit up if they thought Pat did not want that kiss. I'm being sarcastic, but I think it's funny how this forum is so inconsistent.
I stopped watching because I want Thana and Patis to get over the hurdle and binge it because it's such lazy storytelling. I'll check back in a couple of weeks since the comments seem to indicate it's still going on.
I was uncomfortable with the Sky and Win NC scenes. Because I saw Sky and Ace together, I can tell Sky's heart just isn't in it. I'm not sure why they even bothered. Even the actors seem bored
This series is mainly popular because of Jericho and Hiro. I hope they don't mess up the momentum with a subpar follow-up.
I'm afraid to watch this because Yechan in the webstoon is so adorable, and affectionate, and BL out of Korea casts people who hate physical contact with other men. Sun Yeol is gay in the source material, so it will be awkward if I see revulsion, like I've seen with many other Korean BL actors.
I like this series too. I didn't like that Tai instantly clicked with Nara, since it makes no sense according…
Is there an official English version or did you buy the Thai version? I think the communication during rain is such a unique concept. We have to have drama, or it would be a one chapter book, but Pat needs to explain why he was kissing Nara back.
Do you think this show would be as good/better/worse if Mike were still playing Pisaeng? When I watched the old…
Yes, him. People were excited about the pairing, especially since Singto is not longer with GMMTV and is no longer an option. Without an explanation, they recast with Gawin (who is doing a great job), so I went back to watch the original trailer. Now it's hard to imagine someone other than Gawin in the role.
I like this series too. I didn't like that Tai instantly clicked with Nara, since it makes no sense according…
I didn't think of the female friend (I forget her name because she played "Yiwa" for so many years in Love Mechanics) letting Pat tell Nara off. I guess I was so team Tai that I didn't think about that. Pat's lips were puckered, I've seen enough Ken doll kisses in BL to notice the difference. lol
I have a little bit of a different take on Tai. To be honest, I've been around my fair share of young, gay men,…
You make a great point about the BL having drunken sex or forced. I think that's a holdover from writers with the non/dubcon kink, and the mindset that men discover their sexuality after having sex with another man. I also think that many BL writers and viewers have never really been around younger gay men, or just know the one out guy at work.
In the heterosexual world, 100% of men that I interacted with want penetration, so I'm kind of surprised it's as low as 75/25, especially with PrEP. In our era, people wanted to blame gay men for AIDS, so I can see why my BIL who was living in SF back then, wanted to point out that guys were staying safer.
In BL, the fear of being penetrated isn't really discussed. Neither is fear of pain, lube, poop, etc., but huge play is made about rubbers but not lube. I don't want my dramas to get too clinical, but maybe a discussion about fear would be nice from time to time. I thought they had oral in the last episode. Pat literally put his crotch in Tai's face.
Based on the comments. Seems I’m in the minority for loving this series. I did just binge watch all 7 episodes…
I like this series too. I didn't like that Tai instantly clicked with Nara, since it makes no sense according to Bow, and I was mad that Pat was clearly kissing Nara back. I can't blame anyone because Pat and Tai are not in a relationship yet, as evidenced in this episode. What did piss me off is how all the friends were covering for Pat and Nara, and setting them up to be alone, instead of being a real friend and dragging him back with them. Pat is never going to get sex after this, because Tai already has problems trusting and Pat just messed things up. They will probably figure out where Tai is because it's going to rain, but I want Pat and his friends to suffer and feel guilty for a while.
I don't watch dramas other than BL, so I'm not sure about that scene with Tay, but I can believe that it was excused away.
