I'm on ep. 20-ish and struggle to continue. There are so many scenes that seem irrelevant and are plain boring…
It took me from December of last year until yesterday to finish this series (I could’ve finished sooner but life throws things at you). I recommend taking your time. I watched at 1.25-1.5 speed which helped. Also a lot of the scenes that seem irrelevant definitely come back later and mean something important. The last 15ish episodes start to pull in everything and everything starts being figured out
Genuine question, why did you think Mahiro was selfish and immature? Personally I thought Ichijo was the more dislikable character so I’m curious what you thought
Everyone is hating on Yutaro which I get but also don’t get. But the real hate needs to be pointed towards how Ichijo was written. He’s like a lost, idiotic child. Mahiro showed his interest in Ichijo many times. Ichijo even wanted to kiss Mahiro but Mahiro said “only if you like me, bc I like you and it would be painful otherwise”. Ichijo can’t admit that he likes Mahiro so Mahiro leaves. Ichijo chases after him. Then he sees Mahiro hugging his friend and boss and assumes they’re dating?? Wtf. Then he decided that the best course of action is to date this girl who he knows likes him just bc he’s upset that Mahiro is supposedly with someone else. What an asshole
One of the most realistic Thai BLs and I’m not just talking about the ending. Most Thai BLs feel like they’re in this alternate BL reality but this one feels super realistic in how Best was crushing on Dew. Most teens would have acted how he acted. And there’s no stereotypical force proximity, it’s just two people crushing on each other and trying not to make it obvious. So while we didn’t see them hang out a lot, we could still see the connection they had and I love that. This was super well done!
Such a delicate flower. However are you going to make it through life? Lots of things in life are going to make…
No, I know that you didn’t mean that it was the only purpose. I still disagree with you that arts main purpose is to make people uncomfortable, I think that it is to make me people feel something. Making people feel something, any emotion, is the main purpose. Feeling uncomfortable can be one of those emotions but it’s far from the primary purpose.
I watched the entire movie and somewhat enjoyed it so I shouldn’t be the one you’re directing that first paragraph to. But watching a movie that makes you uncomfortable is not a challenge. The OP was probably just finding a movie to pass the time and wasn’t in the mood to be made uncomfortable. Yeah I agree that challenging yourself helps you grow and understand yourself and the world better, but sometimes forcing yourself to watch a movie you don’t want to isn’t a “challenge” you have to accept.
The screen writing was bad, the sound editing was horrible, the camerawork/directing was subpar, but the actors did well with what they were given, god bless them. Only thing that saved this show, for me, were the NC scenes and Fort’s lisp
Ugh finally someone who sees the show for what it was. I can understand how people can enjoy this just for fun and bc of the romantic and steamy scene, but I never understood the people that are just obsessed with this show. It lacks in almost every aspect. I saw people calling it the best show of the year!
Only watching 1 ep and giving a review? Also this is not a BL, there is just a gay couple in the show. The show also never claimed to do justice to the injustices that gay people have faced. In ep 11 which recently aired, Thian gave a great monologue about how he feels being a gay man in his situation, but his situation is not supposed to be relatable even though aspects of it are. There is also this great bond btw Thian and Yang that is very comforting and well done. The storyline is complex and this is not a perfect show . It is also filled with very flawed characters, but that is the point of soap opera. The acting gets a lot better, but you wouldn’t know that. From this review I can tell you misunderstood what this show was supposed to be and made judgements based on your predetermined, wrong understanding.

Dang someone took that personally. The point of art is to make you feel emotions not just uncomfortable. And just because they dropped one thing that made them uncomfortable doesn’t mean they always avoid things that make them uncomfortable. It’s not that serious
Dude the dad sucks. He doesn’t even acknowledge his sons apology after he was one the one harming his son. I still have two episodes left but Tse Shou got fucked over by everyone he loves. Rough
I don't know if anyone will agree with this but I felt like the ending implied that everything was a dream on…
I agree. I think Sakura confessed but he dreamed of Yuma’s positive replies and inner dialogues. I also think the guy pushing Sakura and Yuma not being able to catch him/grab his hand means that Yuma couldn’t get his feelings to match up with how Sakura feels. i.e Yuma couldn’t “save” Sakura from this unrequited love. But ultimately Sakura is okay with it bc he just wants to cherish those around him like Yuma had said, and he emphasizes this at the end of the show.
I feel like not enough people are talking about the great the use of color in this series. Oh-aew is red and Teh is blue. When Teh is wearing red it helps show that he’s thinking about oh-aew and same when Oh-aew is wearing blue. In Ep. 4 Teh’s shirt is mostly blue with some of the red flowers from Ep 3 bc he still can’t quite give himself to oh-aew yet but he also can’t let him go while oh-aew is in all blue. Some times the shades of their shirts are more bright or muted depending on if they’re sad or happy. And I think the purple pencil represents Tan bc Tan (a straight relationship) is what Teh thought he always wanted and she would help him achieve his goal at finding a straight relationship like his brother and what is mom expected of him. So purple represents his ideal relationship, but since he’s blue he needs red to make purple. Even the lettering on Teh and oh-aews uniform were red and blue. After the bra scene in Ep. 4, and Teh saw the post, he pulls a red blanket over him. I’m sure I’m missing more but I think it really adds to the story telling.
