The last few episodes I basically just got the gist of it from absorbing information on social media... I don't know if I'll ever actually finish it myself. It started off as a potential fav season, but ended up just leaving a bitter taste in my mouth. No hate to Kohaku (especially since I really loved her as Haruka in Donbros), but it's just something no actress could've handled, it just feels in poor taste replacing Maya. Not the first time a character in any show gets their actor replaced, but the circumstances made me just not feel good about watchint it anymore... Also, in general the overall story and characters just turned a bit eh towards the end, but honestly even though Sumino wasn't even my fav, I just completely stopped caring about the show.. It is sad that the Sentai hiatus had to start with such a season, but let's hope for it to come back stronger than ever eventually.
Season already had me at the first episode :'D But also wowww I love the soundtrack so much already... Go Sakabe part of the composers... banger main theme... even already a Back-On insert theme...wow
Wow, I never thought I could hate a character played by Nino so much 😠But I mean it as a compliment, great acting and writing... Man, even after 2 hours, at the end I just thought What?? It's over already?!? Also really loved the more chill atmosphere, so the intense and loud moments really stick out!
Really enjoyed this drama! And I just wanna say it's so good at making you immediately attached/root for the main characters, I felt so protective over them I had the need to throw everyone off a cliff who even was slightly antagonistic to them
Was definitely a really intense drama, had a good mix of both dark, serious and silly moments imo and the story was interesting. To me it felt a bit boring at some times since I really dislike romance, but I can see how it had an important factor for the character development, so not really criticism, just something I didn't like. Also had an interesting mix of characters with their own struggles and some more and some less morally grey, felt kind of realistic in that regard, there wasn't really that One Righteous Character that saves the day if that makes sense. Also being vague here obviously but wow that ending was WILD!!
Wow this was even better than the first season... Really only criticism I have for this show is showing the same flashbacks a billion times but a lot of shows are guilty of this unfortunately lol
Okay... Not my favourite rider season, but wow this gets so much hate for no reason! People are acting like this is the worst show in existence! I DO have some criticism sure, but overall it was still a lot of fun and its strongest point were definitely the characters of the main gang, they were all so lovable and really made the show, which poetically kind of fits to the theme of the season I guess? Just the antagonists were kind of eh. Not bad, just alright, so overall kinda underwhelming in that regard sadly...
I just want to say some years ago the comments on here are what made me especially interested in this movie. It's safe to say I still think about this movie a lot, like to recommend it and love to rewatch some clips I took from it, it's a very trippy comedic masterpiece
It really was such a good watch, similar vibe to some of my favourite dramas, thinking of Ouroboros or Hanzai Shokogun, especially in the overall theme and the soundtrack! I loved the OST, it really added to the drama and its atmosphere! And, yeah, people have pointed it out, the end... yeah. I'll just try to ignore that lol
Don't worry, Daigo isn't in this at all (I mean just like in the games, he doesn't show up until Yakuza 2, well…
Yeah, the people writing the articles probably confused a lot of things because they don't know who the characters are in the games and there wasn't much coherent info for them from the trailers 😠And yes I really loved it!! Definetly recommend it :)
So, is this a general adaptation of the series, not just the first game? I completed the first part on PS2, but…
It's like an alternative universe you could say, they marketed it as their own version of Yakuza! Timeline-wise it's kind of before and during Yakuza 1/Kiwami. So yeah, it's just loosely based on the game's story
I'm about to start this after reading a review but I think they've messed up the names. Which Dojima is shot by…
Don't worry, Daigo isn't in this at all (I mean just like in the games, he doesn't show up until Yakuza 2, well if you ignore the kid Daigo cameo in 0 lol)
There wasn't much info about the movie on here, but with that phenomenal cast I had to watch it, and I'm not disappointed, it was really great! Nothing all too special, but especially the fight scenes were really cool and intense. Felt like the guns were used like disposable cameras though, lol... I'm not complaining though, this means we had more weapon/fist fights that were a lot of fun to watch.
I don't really enjoy food dramas (I think they're quite boring most of the time), but this had some cool actors and a creative sounding premise, so I gave it a chance, and I have to say I really enjoyed it! Just, as someone who is German, the setting was funny to me, I did not expect that :'D But I was also surprised at the accurate German you could see here and there, and pronunciations of names or words sometimes were quite good. I'll definetly be watching the other seasons, it's a nice feelgood show and also very silly, with a bit of emotion sprinkled in every here and there of course!
That was definitely a great watch! I started it, expecting to watch an episode here and there, but then ended up binging the majority of the episodes, it really glues you to the screen! It's this insane combination of peaceful aesthetic scenes, wild funny scenes full of absurdity, and yet still a bunch of drama. I really think it makes you go through every emotion imaginable by the end of it... Sometimes you feel like you want to punch the protagonist in the face though!! That was really well-made though, seeing the different phases everyone went through. The final episode was... very silly, I thought it was funny just out of sheer randomness, it just makes you go HUH? And I respect the dedication to the bit I guess? In general, I love seeing Namioka Kazuki's characters, they're always such idiots :'D
Just had to let the finale sink in for a bit, wow... this was great! Nishiki will be my favourite character in every Yakuza adaptation/universe it seems 🥺
To be vague, I liked the changes they did overall, although I feel like sometimes I wasn't sure if it's for new fans who never played the games, or those who have. Some things seemed obvious from the games, but more of a surprise to new fans? I think this can be a good thing though, to have both sides engaged and still have surprises for them!
I think it was enjoyable... At the start it seems like the episodes are too long for what they're trying to tell (it gets a bit boring at times), but the later ones have some really good ones. Main plot is good too! Although I feel like the characters are more interesting than the actual plot, if that makes sense.
This has been getting a lot of negative reviews from fans of the game because they claim it's vastly different…
A lot of fans just want to hate on it to hate on it (and some seem to just not be familiar with jdramas and their criticism are just basic jdrama things), from early on we knew this wasn't gonna be a 1:1 adaption, so the complaints are a bit stupid. I enjoy it so far, it focuses on some things the game never focused on, so I think it's quite fitting to do their own story about it! But if you like this one, I heavily recommend getting into the game series, it's truly special :)
