Ok so above 9 is very rare and those dramas are considered masterpieces. Douban is very different from mdl, mdl users are mostly drama fans and are usually young (there are older fans) whereas douban is more general public. So the dramas that get above 8 are usually family, politics or thriller dramas that the older population would enjoy. Romance dramas, especially idol dramas which are acted by young traffic actors, are sometimes looked down upon due to them not having an intricate plot, cnetz can be very picky the criticise the smallest things which mdl fans find insignificant. For AASOL the main complaint was that the some cnetz found it boring and found LY character creepy. Majority of idol dramas get a rating between 5 to 7, so a 6.9 is considered to be a good drama. Now there are exceptions such as Love between Fairy and Devil which got 8.1 and wu lei's drama Nothing but You which got 8.2, both which are amazing dramas that I highly recommend.

I mean the show did cut out 8 episodes unfortunately, which could be the reason why the ending, the 2nd leads relationship and interaction with the family felt rushed.

My first Zhao Lusi drama was Love and Immortality, I found the episodes on YouTube randomly and just started watching it. I found it very enjoyable and enjoyed her cute and chaotic character. The drama that made me fall in love with her is Romance of Tiger and Rose, which is my favourite. I love her character because she always stood up for herself even though she was weak and she was so funny in that drama. I also think her best pairing is Ding Yuxi because he is funny and chaotic just like Lusi, their personalities match each other well. I like her cute and outgoing roles, but I want to see her play something depressing and angsty lol, something similar to the 2nd half of Love like the Galaxy. I want her to be paired up with Cheng Yi because he is the best at playing melodramatic roles. Just seeing him cry breaks my heart and I think it will be interesting to see them act in heart-wrenching roles.

6.9 is pretty high considering its an idol drama. Most idol dramas get around 5 or 6.
