I don't get why people are always disappointed by novel adaptations. I think it is obvious by now that there would be some changes due to censorship or other reasons. Adaptation doesn't mean it has to exactly follow the novel, and isn't more interesting if you can't guess what is going to happen next. As long as the drama is interesting there is no reason to complain.

Both txw and esther yu are incredibly beautiful. I think it is hard to rate the beauty standard on China since there are so many different ethnicities in China. A lot of people say that sharp features and strong jawline is the beauty standard (dilireba) or they say oval face with soft features is the beauty standard (liu yifei). I have yet to see an ugly chinese actress, so I guess they are all beautiful in their own way.

If you scroll through the cast, you will realise quite a few of them are in everlasting longing. Maybe they are all under the same company but it is interesting to see that they are in another swl drama.

Yes definetely, a historical with a HE ofc. I saw an edit on billibilli of li tonguang and ahnian, and it was like enemies to lovers who were forced to get married. And it suited them so well, I really want to see them in a drama again.

Oh yes I saw this clip before. I was so mad it didn't make it into the final cut! I would love to see him work young actressses as well, but I respect his choice of working on more serious roles.
