I am in 3 episodes in and hugely disappointed by the writing, only main leads acting ( kentaro acting feels more natural but both are good) are the good points for me. Broken love, regrets, angst, ill timed loves , these are usually my thing so I am honestly very sad and frustrated with overall shallow writing. I had expectations that it was gonna be similar to masterpieces like Us & them, on your weeding day, we made beautiful bouquet, theatre. ☹️☹️☹️ I am going to finish but I can already see I won’t like it.
Ive been using viki for a very long time l cant remember the year BUT I remember how every drama l watched had…
I started Viki as phone/tv app, and my comments were turned off so I was completely unaware until last year, about these hate comments. I turned on comments when on my pc to write my thoughts as I go along, but wasn’t expecting how bad it is with hate comments, even on much old dramas. Like seriously! FL ugly, bad, yellow teeth, then even villains are hot to them, and some thirst comments. Half the people don’t even follow the plot.
Never thought I would see a sign of affection article here on MDL hahaha. Just the other day I was commenting meguro ren would be great as itsuomi, and I would like someone HOH to play Yuki, personally prefer that. Anyone here read the latest chapter of the manga? 😄
I know right. He wen't from a nostalgic actor from previous kdrama times that only millenials knew about and totally…
Not exactly forgot about him😅 he had to climb from rock bottom after drug scandal. Kingdom/hyena/along with the gods were the catalyst I presume. I wish yoo ah in can return like him too🥲
uhh i am not a fan of the ml 😑but i will watch it for iu
Funny I used to think the same and for the same reason that his characters didn’t mesh into his real self, when I first watched “reply 1998”, probably his most famous drama. Felt the same with “love in moonlight”, the acting seemed superficial. “Hello monster” wasn’t that remarkable to me. But then I watched “encounter “ , I was pleasantly surprised and “record of youth” blew me away. It’s his best role and one of my favorite dramas of all time. Since then I became fan☺️ I think he shines in some roles but not all.
Asking to any long time manga fans who watched the drama after reading the manga, did you also feel this ? Spoiler…
I am on episode 6 and the modified characterization and script for Furomitsu is driving me nuts. I am holding on because of brilliant acting by Suda Masaki, but I can’t accept how they are forcefully writing Furimitsu in every scene, changing her character as this meek, timid person always clutching her bag and somehow also used as romance bait with totonou? ??? Omg why? She is there in almost every scene, doing nothing, trying to get close to totonou. Why??? They removed some parts and modified to include her. Is it because the actress is popular and demanded morw screen time? Why??? I am so annoyed 🤯
It is just a lack of intellectual and emotional maturity. Age and life experience all play a part. I just assume…
Agreed, everyone grows their own experiences and perception along the way. It could be trolls too, but after seeing comments like this on every drama I watched recently, it feels like something shifted within the masses , as I remember me and others in the 2000/2010s not being this hurtful and immature. Oh well I got to learn not to take it personally. I feel better when I enjoy fiction on my own.
I feel honored to have been a fan of her since 2007(Drama All In) and got the privilege to watch her acting all these years. I love everything about her.. Thank you for sharing her interview with us.
I really liked it when she broke up with him, because she isn't signed up for it when they started their relationship…
Exactly, she didn’t sign up for it, umi is also 7 years old so she couldn’t hide her bitterness easily. She needs to feel prioritized by her bf to make up for past trauma. Really sad but understandable emotions on her part.
She is valid in her feelings of not wanting to be a stepmother no matter how much she loves him or his daughter.…
The scenes when they broke up devastated me, she knew what would cost her but she was being unselfish IMO in breaking up because he wouldn’t have been able to, was about to take it back which would he have regretted. To be honest, I feel mizuki tried to influence too much, and the letter wasn’t needed. She wanted to be in natsu and umi’s heart as long as she could
Caught up to ep 9, cant help crying at almost everything , I also think the character of yayoi momose is going…
She is valid in her feelings of not wanting to be a stepmother no matter how much she loves him or his daughter. She grew up in a very negative household, devoid of love. Her bf coerced her to get abortion, she haven’t healed at all. She wants to be prioritized and loved above all else at least once. She thought she found it with natsu but then he has a daughter whose mom’s shadow is looming everywhere, every small thing. A lot of women feel this way but suppress this before agreeing to become stepmom, let it fester and make them bitter. She chose not to do that. Dead people are often immortalized in hearts, forever untainted, and umi’s family constant judgement and comparison doesn’t help either
Caught up to ep 9, cant help crying at almost everything , I also think the character of yayoi momose is going to be hated and misunderstood by many. Here is why -spoiler below
6 episodes in, I am fully engrossed in this drama, have a lot of thoughts mixed in with personal feelings, will organize them later. Really good one, does anyone find lots of similarities with the manga “my girl” by sumomo yumeka/sahara mizu?
