why is a bed scene necessary ?
Naaa! For me they're even more beautiful because they focus on the story to make it interesting instead of a lousy story that only focus on NC scenes to sell it.

I watched this a long time ago and back then liked the message behind the movie very much. Recently I am going…
Which twists? I'm not sure I fully understood the ending?😅

Park Jae Shik was a better dad than a lot of biological fathers out there. Including Eun Hye's father. He was awesome to her even before fully realizing that he considered her his own daughter.
And Eun Hye was so cute every time she smiled. You just want to give her lot of love & hugs.

Anyways, I loved this beautiful movie!🥰

I don't know anything about psychiatric hospitals, but that being said I don't think this type of violence against…
Well it was allowed before...and way more than that. Patients weren't considered humans at all.
Though I don't know if there are still places in the world where it's allowed.

I understand dropping a series after 7 minutes. I also do it. Sometimes even before that (like What the duck).…
First sorry for the long paragraph. Sometimes I wright too much without noticing😂

"I don't understand: First you say you have dropped shows after seven minutes, even less, but then you say it's "wrong" to do so"

I'm not saying it's wrong to drop a show, but it's wrong to judge a whole show based on only 7 minutes. Sometimes your instincts can be wrong.

Also I'm just weird: I often drop dramas because I'm finally not in the mood to watch them...and I love them (like beyond evil)😅 or because of another reason but I'm sure you don't care...(anyways I'm not even sure I know the whole reason myself).

About Thai BL, sadly they often focus on the NC scenes to please teens' hormones instead of the plot. I wish they make more good/deep plot BL without NC scenes (I personally prefer when they demonstrate their love with hugs, eye-hearts, hand-holdings, etc.). I hope they'll do that in 2024.

However, I don't watch straight Thai dramas, so maybe it's the same problem for them🤔 So a problem with the whole Thai industry?

Anyways I just think there are still few good dramas among them. Even with some flaws like IFYLITA, Last twilight, The sign...

"MDL Little Girls"
I was polite in my comment so please don't be condescending with me. I'm not a little girl. I can accept other people opinions & dislikes of shows I like. I can see the flaws in dramas I like & dislike.

I only dislike disrespectful (maybe some of them aren't but I sometimes interpret them like that like yours?) & homophobic (some sick people go to BL shows just to wright that🙄) comments.

Life is beautiful is long because it's a family TV K-Drama. We follow the whole members of the family in their daily life. However there is a cut version of the gay couple (KyungSoo/TaeSub) on bilibili. I don't know how it is since I only watched the whole drama.

As much as I like BL showing us a simple BxB love story because it's as normal as BxG love I still wish more BL showed the family reaction to their coming with some supportive & some homophobic (for a good cry). Or just the family bond since most BL feel like the characters are orphans.

In this show Kyung Soo's family was homophobic (we barely see them) while Tae Sub's family was supportive. Plus both actors are really good, especially Tae Sub's actor.

P.S: There are some old fashioned thinking? in the drama, but overall it's really good. A show where the family is above all. I mostly want to recommend this series because there aren't many BL fans who know about this ship

good, don’t watch it. this masterpiece doesn’t deserve to be watched by an insecure man child.
"the guys have to look normal for me" Sorry but that's being homophobic. I'm tired of people (BL fans or non-BL fans) saying that about gays characters.
There are feminine gay men & none feminine gay men in the world. And imply that feminine gay men aren't "normal" IS homophobic & must be hurtful for them :(

ugh.Seven minutes into the first episode...dropping. I can't stand this kind of juvenile, Saturday-morning-cartoon-vibe,…
I understand dropping a series after 7 minutes. I also do it. Sometimes even before that (like What the duck). But I think your wrong in judging a whole series with just 7 minutes of it.

When I do that, I either don't comment at all or explain the reasons I dropped it without being rude & judgemental like you by dragging a whole industry when there are some good and bad series like with everything else.
For example I dropped Unforgotten Night after episode 1 for many reasons, but I'll never judge it solely on that 1st episode. Even if the series isn't good, maybe there are some scenes that makes it likeable to some people.

Try watching I feel you linger in the air: Uncut version (2023) or Grey rainbow (2016). Maybe you'll like them. (my brain is empty. I don't remember anything else right now😅)

As for this series I understand why you can dislike it. I don't really like the game setting part? Because it's just not to my taste. However after watching the whole series I can tell it has lot of potential. And the plot is deeper than what it looks at first glance.

Sadly they don't have much budget. I'm sure if they had it and if it was longer (like usual k-drama length), it could have been a great drama.

In the meantime, if you want to watch a mature gay couple in a K-Drama with supportive family (at least on 1 side...most of the drama since later the other's family will also accept them), try Life is beautiful (2010).
It's a good family drama that also depict gays' people struggles in South Korea. Also best stepmom ever.

I think this BL has potential, but it would have been waaaaaaaaaaaay better & deeper with the usual K-Drama's length.
It felt like something was messing. And somehow empty.

myungha had actually been dead the whole time and just stayed in the simulation with yeowoon (from what I interpreted)
It's a happy ending.
It's like transmigration novels where the MC dies. Then goes to a another universe (a game/novel's universe in this case) where they get their happily ever after with the ML.

My rule of thumb when it comes to the BL genre is to avoid the Chinese ones cause they're really not BL...they…
In my case I often prefer bromance because it focuses on telling a good story rather than, like in BL, focus on kissing and NC scenes while the story isn't good. Plus all BL are of romance genre while bromance isn't.

Even when a BL is really good, I can't stop of feeling like it is lacking something to be really good. Like when you compare to other BL it's good or even a masterpiece, but when you compare to straight shows it loses few -or lot- points.

I think Life is beautiful(2010) comes the closest to what I wish in a BL-romance: to see the gay couple interact with their own family & each other's family. I want more BL that make me feel lots of emotions (there are few BL like that for me). Plus BL that explore more genres.

However right now I just need & hope for companies to make more & more bromance like Chinese bromance, Beyond evil (Korea), etc. Bromances without any female between the 2 guys, with lot of chemistry & love eyes, but with a good plot that doesn't focus on romance. There are still fanfctions for that.

As for Taiwan production companies, I think they don't do that because of the money: they're not as rich as mainland China. Though it's only an hypothesis.

Korean? NC scenes????? Since when?????????🙄🙄
Just say you never watched any BL

Also there are some Thai BL without NC scenes. As for the Taiwanese BL, It's rare to have NC scenes.

I already posted a -too- long comment, so I'm posting a shorter one here.KyungSoo/TaeSub is my favorite K-BL couple.…
P.S: I wish Chae Yeong left to NEVER come back instead of making her stay as "a friend" when she clearly still had feelings for Tae Sub and she kept making "jokes" like "do you love me? We can still marry. How is Kyung Soo? Did you fight?". Like she clearly hopping something bad would happen to their couple. Especially to Kyung Soo.
The worst part is how the writers made him say things like "if I wasn't gay I'd go out with you" while he had A LOVER!🙄😒

I HATE to hear this sentence so much in gay stories! At least when the guy is single I can ignore it.
However when he's in a relationship it's like saying "I'm just with my lover 'cause he's a guy. I prefer your personality over his. If I could feel desire for a woman's body, I'd choose you." It's SO DISRESPECTFUL toward the partner.

Also when she gave him that gift that "he should keep until the day he dies" And he just ACCEPT IT????? While his lover is just the next room
For me, she's like a flea that clings on and doesn't want to let go.

Ugh... everything about her character is irritating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KyungSoo/TaeSub is my favorite K-BL couple. I absolutely love them and it's a shame this drama isn't known. I hope more people will discover this hidden gem.
So maybe there will be some fan-fictions and edits about them🤭 (always read fics/watch edits when I finish a series since I want more of the characters)

Plus Song Chang Eui (Tae Sub) is amazing!!!! I need him in more dramas.

The 63 episodes are worth your time. And you can still skip some parts if you don't want to see them like I skipped the grandpa's story line during my re-watch (I didn't skip anything the 1st time)

P.S: For those who are tired of flashbacks of scenes that happened 20 seconds earlier, you'll love this drama because there is 0 flashback here. Even when you feel like there will be one

Title Life Is Beautiful Spoiler
Sorry for the long a** review.

I watched this drama some years ago. I decided to re-watch it since I didn't know what to watch & I missed TaeSub/KyungSoo. Both times I watched the whole 63episodes; not just the BL cut even though that's the main reason I watch this series.

Today I wanted to write my review on this wonderful series even though I'm just at episode 10 & I forgot some parts of the story. So lets start with what I dislike about this series in order from the worst:

1/ The shameless grandpa's story line. I feel disgusted every time I see him. That's why I skip all the scenes with him😒...and some scenes where other characters are talking about him even though we don't see him on screen. The eldest & youngest sons are clearly on his side and don't give a f**k to their mom's feelings & struggles brought by him. They kept saying things like "We're father's sons" What about your mother who suffered so much bringing you up alone?
It's like they forgot what he did & that he didn't give a f**k about for 30years. I'm pretty sure if he wasn't kicked by his 6th wife, they wouldn't have seen him for another decade.

The fact they made the grandma care about him so quickly in the earlier episodes and, worse, completely forgive him & live with him in the end is even more upsetting!!!😤 I HAAAAAATED that the most. What's the message here? "You can be a total trash all your life, but at the end of the day you will be happy & die happily like you always wished"? (his wish being to die beside his 1st wife because "she's the most important woman". A cliche cheater's sentence)

2/The toxic side couple. I'm not here to watch an abusive trash husband hurt his wife so I also skipped their scenes🙄

3/2nd uncle future wife. There wasn't any chemistry and I didn't like her personality. She wasn't right for him. I could imagine someone with a different personality as his wife. Everything about her felt fake.

As for the positive parts (not in order):
1/I liked the parents' dynamic. I think every couple wishes to be like that at at that age. They still love each other. Though I didn't like some of their actions like with the grandpa, the daughter's almost abortion, ... It's okay. They're humans.
Plus they're really kind, loving parents.

2/I like the family's feels of the drama. It's quite good to watch all of them interact & be a family🥰 (except the grandpa of course).

3/I like the nostalgia I felt while watching. The way it was filmed (I don't know all the all technical' terms). It was like being a kid again & watching shows in the evening.

4/And of course we have Tae Sub & Kyung Soo!!!!! I just love them so much! They're so adorable together & they have CHEMISTRY!
Although I would've liked to see more display of affection between them (more hugs, a hand on the neck instead of shoulder since it's more intimate, etc.) it's okay because it's the same for all couples, even straight ones. It's just usual Asian's lack of PDA.

It's not like some shows where the straight couples have lots of PDA while there is 0 for the gay couple or lots PDA for gay couple, even NCscenes (almost p**n) & 0 for straight couples. Here every couple was treated the same way. Also it was cute seeing the parents still confess their love for each other.

I wish to see these actors together in at least one other drama. I really loved them!!!!!
*Sigh I have so much to say about them yet I can't find the words😭 Especially I love Tae Sub's personality & overall nature? Every time he appears on screen, I feel happy🥹💕
Also he was so cute when he introduced Kyung Soo as a friend to his family (especially his mom) in the beginning🤭 Plus I love the fact the family accepted them in the end!

All in all this drama is really good. I wish more people knew about it. (Mainly because I want some fanfictions about some our lovely gay couple...or the hot uncle😜). More seriously, even with its flaws, this drama is a must-see.

I'll stop here for now because my comment is already too long.

P.S: Also the uncle is sexy🤭

P.P.S: Kyung Soo and Tae Sub are also hot...separately and together🤭 🤭

P.P.P.S: I wish Song Chang Eui(Tae Sub) was in more dramas. He's really talented!!!
And like I said if he had another drama -or more- with Lee Sang Woo (Kyung Soo), it would be wonderful🥺
