Unexpectedly Great Story
This drama starts out a bit strange, particularly because of the weird & complicated main character, Mamoru. BUT ...
if you can hold on through some bizarre events and extremely depressing moments surrounding him, it definitely all comes together for some great feel good entertainment.
Matsuoka Koudai & Nakao Masaki didn't seem like any chemistry would work between these two early on, but I was loving how they were a perfect blend by episode 6. That was the episode for me that the entire series really started to work like magic. When Issei & Kararu both discover Mamoru's secret wall of worship, that made for some much needed laughter at that point in the drama. It really was surprising how great the story became from that point till the very end. The acting by these two were perfectly matched, along with a few good scenes from the supporting cast, especially Yahagi Honoka, playing an important role later in the series.
A definite feel good series. It was a short and to the point drama, but it worked!
