They explain it later on. It is hard to explain it without spoiling the story because to me it was an important part of the plot and it makes this show different from others. You will not regret watching the drama :)

I asked the same question about the sisters leaving and according to GrnGrnTmt ( another fan of this drama), the sisters did not die. You can actually see them in episode 27(uncut version) it's in a flashback.
I am not sure at what point Yuan Song will marry Xiaoba but in the actress who plays Xioaba, Zhu Nicole, it says " [Xiao Ba( Chu Qiao's 8th sister, Yuan Song's wife)]. I hope this helps.
