In Tibetan Sea Flower, ZQL is already behind the bronze gate so he will mostly appear only in flashback/memories of Wu Xie. They won’t have any scenes directly together and this continues even in Sand Sea(Sha Hai). So, he might have less screen time. They will reunite again the 3of them in Sound of the Providence and the bromance is good with proper screen time for XG as well in that. The thing is that ZQL is a mysterious person so he always disappear from time to time even in the books he disappears a lot sometimes he is in a different team with Wu Xie and Pangzi together and he with others. Hope this might help u understand a bit.

As far as I remember after ZQL comes out of the bronze gate the 3of them retire in Rain village and there’s a book called Notes in Rain Village u can check out. I think it was during this retirement, Reunion Sound of the Providence takes place. So, basically they went on an adventure again.
