A Classic That’s Not All That: It Aged Terribly
You could sum up this version and all the others like this: a girl who was supposed to be strong but is actually weak and confused (Jan Di), a toxic and aggressive man (Joon Pyo), and a “backstabbing” friend who only gave up on his buddy’s girlfriend because he had no chance (Ji Hoo). Although Joon Pyo steals the spotlight with his aggressiveness, all of them have flaws in their character. Characters like Woo Bin were sidelined. If they had cut Ji Hoo’s cringeworthy flirting scenes with Jan Di, they could have built a whole subplot just for Woo Bin.
