My goodness.... Imagine you pouring your heart out to your loved one's,telling them you trust them,ready to accept anything they decide......and the next thing they do is steal your most precious possession, when you believed that person would never be like that.. How would your reaction would be??? Ji Bozai did exactly that.Not saying MingYi was entirely right or wrong,she had her own reasons for doing that....but see it from JBZ's pov!This guy did everything he could to help Mingyi, even when he was suspicious about her, he never abandoned her,helped her to save her friend,saved her from Mu Qibai.In later episodes,he even broke up with her to protect her from the wrath of their realms.... He was ready to sacrifice himself so that she can live peacefully .He gave Mingyi her space,instead of pushing her,he waited for her to tell the truth. Golden Millet Dream was something JBZ protecting with his own life...the moment he realised Mingyi's truth,he immediately gave her that without asking a single question or blaming her for anything. He was a broken soul who trusted MingYi with his everything. Blaming him for something he never did sounds kinda childish ngl.
Also the saving each other part,one thing that made me love LITC was how much both male and female leads were strong enough to protect each other and their loved one's even when they were not in their best condition. They never had to depend solely on each other. MingYi as a warrior princess was strong enough to protect herself even though she was ill and weak. And JBZ also protected her like a shield even when he realised she's not a weak fairy as he thought . Say whatever you want but as a couple Ming-Zai is exemplary and JBZ as a character is unforgettable.

What's going on with the rating??? It was 8.9 when it was airing...then came down to 8.8...now suddenly 8.7???? How????

Ummm maybe because i've seen some actual annoyingly childish fl in some other dramas.... MingYi was far from childish for me. She was really cunning,smart,observant who knows how to gain ZBZ's attention....and she actually succeeds in her plan lol. Don't worry,she is not a typical fl...she is strong and mature who knows how to save her loved ones and still be adorable.Her being cute just adds to her strength and attractiveness.

Well this drama is highly based on teenage innocence, friendship,family ties,life struggles of parents and children etc and everything is portrayed in an extreme accurate way. Many people could actually relate to the neighbourhood the characters live in the show and the lifestyle of the 80’s- early 90’s. Its innocent yet realistic way of showing life what made people attracted to the show. Its a very nostalgic show. Its okay if you don’t find it worth watching,but its really one of the greatest kdrama ever made 😊

Well I don’t wanna spoil much .... But it has a bittersweet ending if you watch it with the special episode.... But you will definitely fall in love with the characters and their bonding!!!This is one of HMH's best show,that's for sure,him as ZYZ, the great demon is *chef's kiss*

Hey... If you want to watch a fun drama( since you’re going through a hard time).. You can watch I am Nobody,in case you haven’t watch it yet.Its lighthearted and really fun to watch... And if you've already watched it,I hope you find something worthy to give you some relief from your hard times 😊

Not gonna lie,I actually agree with many parts of your review. I was also having a hard time for lazy story writing,so many cliches and parts that was not needed at all. But about Ji Bozai falling in love with MingYi.... Well I have my own interpretation that I just want to share. We all have our opinions, its not a bad thing to share lol.

Well... Yes,Ji Bozai was suspicious of Mingyi from the very beginning. But one thing we're probably ignoring is that,even though Mingyi faked her identity, one thing she didn’t fake was her personality. She's Ming Xian,the warrior god,most powerful one....on the other hand she was still a very kind,compassionate, gentle person and she never hid this part. And Ji Bozai, after having the hell of a childhood,was probably first time met a person like her who is cunning, using him for her benefit but also willing helping him,comforting him,her presence made his empty Wugui Sea like home. The only person that ever truly touched JBZ's heart was his shifu by saving him and after that,Mingyi.He never had any true companion beside Buxiu. So even after realizing Mingyi was hiding something big,he gave her benefit of doubt again and again cause of her nature. He was even happy that Mingyi maybe a liar,but she's not after Millet Dream like everyone around him. So that's why he was mostly devastated when Mingyi tried to steal GMD cause to JBZ,Mingyi broke his biggest trust. Lying about identity is one thing cause he already assumed that. But Mingyi turning out to be like every other girl was something he couldn’t accept. Cause He wholeheartedly believed him and Mingyi are of one heart.In short Ji Bozai could see Mingyi beyond her facade.They were fake flirting from the beginning but she gave him comfort, moments of childishness and company that he never had.




Also,Ming Xian-Situ Ling wouldn’t work
cause whatever Situ Ling was feeling for her,was definitely not love. It was obsession, and a toxic one. Ji Bozai, Mingyi and Situ Ling all three of them had very traumatic childhood.But MingZai never let that thing shape their personality,they remained the same person overall. Even though Situ Ling was kind before, the moment he started act upon his evil persona,he lost all the chance to redeem. Thats
where he failed big time. MingYi wasn’t interested in him at all, but instead of
trying to improve himself he just kept pushing her obsessively. Their relationship would never work imo.

also i think at that part mingyi was really trying to suppress her feelings for ji bozai,maybe that was also a reason.

Really loved your analysis. People really misunderstanding her character arc and hating without realizing her reasons. Her past trauma and her present fears of lossing Ji Bozai really messed her mind. She never intended any harm. She was just a poor messed up soul craving for some affirmations with love. But when Ji Bozai gave her that,her kindness and insecurity and trauma played the cruel game with her.

My thoughts on MingYi never being able to tell the truth to Ji Bozai is...MingYi has lived a in a lie her whole life. She carried the burden of being the best warrior and crown prince while being emotionally manipulated, so lying is like her defence mechanism. But with Ji Bozai,her world changed. He trusted her unconditionally and she found herself in the most difficult position to break through the lie she lived her whole life.On one hand it was her own life at stake,on the other hand it was Ji Bozai's trust on her that she's different from the whole world who was after the Golden Millet Dream. Another thorn on her way was the promise made by Ji Bozai to his shifu of never letting anyone know about Millet Dream's existence. Ming yi was torn,she chose to become the betrayer because she couldn’t allow Ji Bozai breaking the promise to his shifu. Girl was struggling too bad to decide what to do. She could never gather enough courage to come clean to Ji Bozai cause she knew Ji Bozai would let the world burn to keep her alive and she could never let that happen cause she's also a kind soul like Ji Bozai.

Those curtains were enemy no 1 for me in the whole drama

Idk whose decision was to put those damn curtain every time MingZai was having a fiery moment..... It was so annoying!!!!!!!!

I really wanted to enjoy this one cause HMH looks extremely good in the trailer and the trailer looks so promising!!! But.... The FL looks nothing but his younger sibling... This pairing just don't match! The production team lost a huge chance of making a groundbreaking drama by casting a minor who looks even younger than her age! Minghao always has chemistry with his co actress,ig this one would be a difference!

Can't believe I'm saying this... Xia Jingyan stole the show in the end. I was actually rooting for him. Xiyang didn’t do justice to him after using him for her own benefit!

I guess Squid Game season 3 ending was so bad, in comparison AiB season 3 delivered a masterpiece! The only thing i dont want is the westernization of this show....just like they did with SG!
