As much as I loved Vincenzo, the last two episodes - with their blatant and grisly violence - lost some of the series’ earlier charm. And they completely lacked any of that trademark humor. The ending just didn’t compare with the brilliant writing of the previous episodes. Perhaps something was lost in the translation.
Episode 19 Thoughts and the Entire Vincenzo Show (thus far) Reflection*It seems that there are mixed opinions…
Dabosil, after pouring your heart into such a heartfelt analysis, you only rated the show an 8.5?? Clearly, it should be much, much higher (despite the inconsistencies you mentioned). I do, however, appreciate the parallels you highlighted. For me, Vincenzo is operatic in scope, and deserves a 9.99.
another drama done, goodbye to sisyphus the myth! hopefully psh finds better projects in the future. this was…
Agree that JSW was not cast in the right role. In an earlier comment, I said how much I loved him in Stranger. Sadly, I gave up on this drama after episode 12. (And that was after fast forwarding on many of the earlier episodes.)
So sad for you...but for me it took me just 1 day.... waiting for episode 14
Astrid Faith Lamses, so glad that you enjoy the romance in Sisyphus. Sadly, I found Jo Seung Woo so much more compelling in Stranger (he just doesn't cut it for me as an action/sci-fi/romance figure). And because Jo Seung Woo is my favorite Korean actor, I had very high hopes for Sisyphus, which were sadly misplaced.

Thanks, W two worlds Season 2, for the other drama recommendations. Unlike you, however, the slapstick in Vincenzo has me rolling on the ground. And then, there's the 8.8 rating for Vincenzo, compared to the 8.1 rating for Sisyphus. (Of course, personal preferences trump general ratings.) But I do appreciate your perspective.

Agree that this drama is disappointing, hence the low review. Even when you suspend your disbelief, the episodes are just not that engaging. What a waste of the ML’s talents. On the other hand, Vincenzo is hitting it out of the park.
Watching this and Sisyphus at the same time. While the ML in Sisyphus (Stranger) is my absolute favorite, that show is totally overshadowed by Vincenzo, which is hands-down superior. In fact, Vincenzo could be a Broadway musical, it’s so good. It ‘s a stunning production, even when I have to suspend disbelief. (Just bummed that Sisyphus has turned out to be so disappointing.)
