One review described it as a fever dream - pretty accurate, I'd say. BUT, if you're the type that can turn your brain off, don't let a messy plot deter you. The published plot summary makes it seem like one thing, but in actual working out, the whole interplanetary idea is barely used - it only makes sense toward the end, and even then, it's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it plot point.
It's like they put a bunch of 11 year olds in a room, had them write all their ideas on a whiteboard, and then incorporated EVERY SINGLE IDEA. Except a 16 year old came through and wrote MORE KISSING on the board, so they did that, too.
And oddly, it's delightful. So bad it's good. My opinion, anyway.
"So trash..." I love it! lol If we just rate the plot, it's probably a 2, but the chemistry exceeds our available 10 points, so it averages out to close to a 10 for me, too.
blood transfusion??? so anti-climatic, feels like the show has lost it's charm after ep 20ish, it started off…
Yeah, and when the transfusion didn't work - why the viral load would adjust better with saliva than blood, I don't know. I was afraid for a second that they were going to romanticize physical intimacy while she was unconscious - you know, for her own good, of course - and if that had happened, I was out no matter what. But I agree with you that it's lost a bit of its charm. Hope it picks up again.
Virus. A single cut scene referencing "Earth. 2051." from the synopsis. Dragons. Now marriage counseling. Makes perfect sense. ... When do to the next pair of episodes release again???
Lmao i promise I'm a real person but I'll take that as a compliment to my formatting skills. Ep 18 lip bite? I…
Oh goodness, no I didn't mean that AI wrote *your* review!!! You said, "The script sounds like it was written by a sentient AI that was fed nothing but romance novels and Resident Evil lore." - at which I lol'ed - and I could totally see that happening, given how AI tries so hard to sound real but gets increasingly unhinged as time goes by. Sorry for the confusion!!
Written by AI - that tracks, especially after the insanity that ends ep 18. I just sat there like what for a good seventeen seconds and then laughed out loud.
WHYYYYYYY is this chemistry so good? This only works because of them. Anyone else and this wouldn't have even been distributed, I bet. (Too add to your kiss list, above, the one in ep 18 where he bites her lip.)
idk how the the creators manage to play toxic by britney spears but i live
I noticed that, too. Technically, the part they're sampling was itself a sample (https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/britney-spears-toxic-what-song-sampled_uk_654b8231e4b0e3ecaf8bb478), and the strings melody rearranges the notes' order and octave so it's recognizable, but not *technically* the same. Plotwise, I'm assuming they want the word "toxic" in our minds when it comes to this couple - hot, yes, but oh-so-toxic. Legally, my guess is they hope no one who can do anything about it finds out.
I feel like there's something else the music producers, uh, "borrowed," too, but I can't remember offhand. It's possible it's a different show, where the opening credits play over two Christmas carols.
To be honest, I'm not sure whether the hagwon was backdrop to the OTP or the OTP was backdrop to the hagwon. But I loved this quiet (despite the makjang tendencies of the last couple of eps), intriguing, thought-provoking drama that explored relationships of all types, what makes for truly good education (and what makes a truly good teacher), and the power we have to think and act for ourselves.
Why the hell Gu Won just jumped from the helicopter and stayed there with Sa Rang. 😭 I mean I appreciate his…
I also kinda wondered if at least part of the point was that King Group would clearly not lift a finger to rescue a "mere employee," but they'd sure have to to rescue the chairman's son? I mean, it's pretty clear he leapt first and thought later, but there is that other dynamic that would make sense, too.
Kinda feel like ep 10 was trying to answer her question about whether she creates her future or just sees it (and the problem is therefore understanding context and interpreting it correctly, like with the future she saw with the director, and not the future itself). CMH and HYS tried wearing the same outfits to create that future she saw in ep 01, but something always prevented them from following through...until it happened organically. They wore the same clothes again, but they would have anyway, for the premiere, based on the conversation they had in his closet. They didn't force themselves to his house to recreate her vision, they ended up there because it was time for them to be there, if that makes sense.
