I wasn't convinced about Nirvana in Fire despite being a fan of newer wuxia dramas. I'd seen it on every recommendation list, the comments section here, on reddit, and on other sites was just filled with praise for it and I didn't think it could live up to the hype.
I'm thrilled to say it did, despite very high expectations for the drama. Was the plot elaborate? Yes. Were there a lot of characters? Absolutely. Did it have a ton of side stories and a lot of political intrigue, check and check. Was it wonderful? 100%. I truly was impressed by the sheer depth of this drama and how intelligent the writing was, and how well the characters were written and portrayed.
If you haven't watched it, trust me, it's worth a try.
I'm really keen on watching this, but a giant chicken when it comes to horror. Is it very scary? For reference I had no issue watching the K-drama 'Sell your Haunted House'. TIA!
