I cried for some of his scenes. I wonder if his character serves as a lesson - if one has main character love for their female lead, then go get her. don’t be sitting on the sidelines shipping her with some other man. be that man. oh XL… he really was made for the audience and not for XY.

I finally finished second season. it was so totally draggy for me and I think it’s for reasons you said. I’m a Jing fan and whether some folks like it or not, **SPOILER** she ends up with him so she *should* have the most chemistry with this specific character and the most screen time. I didn’t read the book so all I know is what the drama shows me. jing’s role was severely diminished in this second season, so much so that I started shipping CX even though he was never ever an option for her in my head. I realized I felt this purely bc he got so, so much screen time with the female lead. we got to see so many sides of CX that made him human and one couldn’t help but just feel for him.

despite CX screen time, I’m still an avid Jing fan till the end. i really do wish we had more time YaoJing scenes esp since the screen time for Jing in season 1 greatly surpasses that of season 2. there’s just that discrepancy there for me.

last thing, no shade on CX or XL, both great characters played by excellent actors. any one of these three would have paired nicely with XY, I just like Jing that’s all.

when you say “treated in TPR” do you mean how he got an amount of screen time unfitting for a male lead? bc I have to agree. 😭I wanted more of him throughout the drama. I don’t know about the industry but I can see that, how you have to schmooze with the right people to get more desirable roles. I’ve also read he doesn’t have formal education in acting which I think is even more insane considering how well he executes his roles. love the guy

TPR was an upset for me as well… but it sounds like we might get a do-over with our generation/cherry amber since the leads are rumored to be again, ZLH and ZJM! 😯

I think she even gave off single independent boss lady vibes. I wish she stayed single instead of went with SZZ. it felt like she did it out of pity and/or stability, neither of which are love.

ugh that’s why TPR didn’t do it for me. ZLH had to share the spotlight and I really just wanted more of him

I gotta be honest I had to skip all their parts. it didn’t feel right and they never matched from the beginning. either that or her chemistry with XYX was just better.

i agree! i was confused when she was casted as a love rival because she looks much more mature than FL. thought she was a mentor at first. Crazy thing though is, she and seven tan are both the same age, 34. o_o
