I know a lot of people are sour at the ending, and to be completely honest I found a lot of it to be unnecessary…
I was initially frustrated with the ending too and I almost didnt make it through the end of the episode, but after thinking I think I understand the ending too. I agree with the room 19 thing. Ji Ho needed a break from the marriage to see what she wanted. After her time in Insadong she realized that she truly loved him. Se Hee wasn't very expressive with his feelings so she didn't know the extent of his love. No one expected his lifestyle to change so drastically when she left him. Especially when he never told her she loved him and that he only needed his house and cat in his life. Ji Ho saw that the two took marriage too lightly. In the end, she realized that the contractual marriage was harmful for their love and thus she began the relationship again. Experiencing moments as a couple first and then a married couple.
I also agree with the wonseok part. I don't think their relationship was healthy. They had very different concepts about life and I don't think their marriage would've lasted in the long run. I think it would've been better if they part ways. Not every couple end up together and love doesn't triumph all. So I wished the writer didn't make all the couple end up together.
Overall I still think the ending wasn't that bad and didn't deserve all the criticism that it got.
Ah I just finished ep 14 (loved everything up to this point) and I can already sense the incoming angst and frustration…
It's sometimes a little frustrating to watch the , but I get why the writer did what he/she did. Hopefully, you would watch till the end cause the ending is sorta sweet and I think it's still a good drama despite its flaws.
I really love this drama. The school setting, the transition from past to present, the emotions in the show, and their love story. I love everything about it. Plus the lead couple is such a cute match and the other couple stories are cute too! The filming of this drama is also so beautiful. Really one of my favorites!
