This is definitely Zhang Ling He's break out role for me (even though he's already very popular in China.) His acting can be hit or miss in my opinion but in this project he's just checking all the boxes. The way he goes from soft when he's with the FL to exuding complete power/control when he's with his enemies is just drool. All while being so calm. I just CAN'T. Also, Qi Men/Deng Kai I was not familiar with your game. Yes he's completely toxic but the real question is could he be toxic with me? I blame Luo Yunxi in AOL for making me love the toxic SML troupe so much. But in all seriousness, all the actors so far are phenomenal and I don't care what the netizens say the drama is actually very good and entertaining. Dare I say even slightly erotic. I'm so excited for more episodes.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm planning to binge watch Fated Hearts this weekend and I've heard a lot of good things about that drama so I'm excited. I'm a Chinese costumes drama fanatic so it definitely suits my tastes.

That's interesting. The enemies to lovers troupe is a very common drama theme but its rarely done WELL and in a natural way. I was hoping Love in the Clouds would be a gradual sensual burn because of the trailers but its already starting a bit clumsy. I will definitely check that drama out though.

I think "The Prisoner of Beauty" has forever ruined me because I have yet to find a Cdrama this year that can top that raw natural chemistry. A Dream Within A Dream and When Destiny Brings the Demon had good chemistry between the main leads as well. I'm going to try and give this drama a chance but so far to me the atmosphere between the two is giving awkward and not in a funny, playful way. It just feels off too me. Maybe I should be more patient but so far I'm a little disappointed. Neo is VERY handsome and a treat for my eyes so I'll stay for now. Hopefully it will get better.

Thats what a lot of the Chinese comments are saying 😂😂😂 . They are like the 2nd prince has a crush on Fan Xian and will pursue him to the ends of the earth. It's so funny.

I can see why. He's such a good actor and I'm so glad that season 2 is showing more of his personality.

I love reading the comments about Fan Xian and the 2nd prince. The Chinese fans are saying 2nd prince is like an obsessed lover. I'm 😂😂😂. I love the chemistry between the two actors so much. They are both phenomenal.

This is my first comment on MDL. Usually, I prefer reading what other people say, but I just wanted to give my 2 cents because I'm a huge fan of the series. Going in, I wanted to keep my expectations minimal because I didn't want to be disappointed. Frankly, I think JOL season 1 is hands down one of the best Chinese dramas to exist. It just has everything. However, I am really enjoying season 2, and I think some of the complaints are a bit over dramatic. What I really love about this season is how much Fan Xian has grown up and matured. Of course, he's still very bold, but he's a lot more careful and calculating now. He's also slower to rush into things based off of his emotions. I'm loving everything so far and for all the people complaining that there is too much comedy they should enjoy it while they can. I hear season 3 is going to be much darker and very emotional. I'm so excited 😊.
