You might skip this, you might not — but you should definitely watch Dark.
Now, I have to say it: there’s more logic in a story about a killer robot who watches soap operas than in this. Sure, I know it’s fiction, and I could treat it like fiction… but come on — how many killer robots do you know personally?Anyway, I’ll leave Murderbot out of this and focus on the series at hand.
I actually liked it at first — I even wrote a bunch of positive comments. I was hopeful, naive, full of trust. And then the last few episodes hit…
My short answer: it’s just not good.

(I'm going to keep this short and cute because I can already feel the rant review from kilometers away.)
* The screenwriter seems confused. Instead of accepting that this is a thriller with sci-fi elements, she tries to cram in social commentary, romance, and... space art. The stars speak. Which stars? Unclear. Maybe Mercury was in retrograde when the script was finalized.
* The timeline jumps back and forth with no warning. What year is it? How much time has passed? Give us something — anything — to hold onto.
* It tries to be more complex than it really is. And there I am, convinced there’s some profound truth beneath it all. Like Lost or Devs (time loops, hidden meanings, cryptic storytelling)… but there’s nothing there.
* The show is great at raising questions without offering a single answer. It covers up plot holes and confusion by piling on more mystery.
* A great premise and decent acting are wasted on an incoherent plot. Mysterious elements are added for shock value, but the mystery is never explained.
*There has to be some deeper meaning behind all of it, right? Right?! Or is it just bad luck?
* I did love that Dream's is ace — but it’s such a small part, it only made me smile a little. Still, I have to give her credit — she delivered raw emotion and sincerity like a pro… even while surrounded by plot twists that felt like they were written during a caffeine crash.
* There were also so many odd, cringe-worthy moments that I can’t really get into here without spoiling major plot points — but yeah, episode after episode of that kind of thing gets old fast.
The truth is, I dropped it. But then I told myself: “Omini, just three more episodes — don’t you want to see how it ends?”
It would be funny if it weren’t so sad. I feel like Experiment 626, but without the aloha or the Hawaiian roller coaster ride.
All that said — I really don’t recommend this series to anyone.
I get that some people liked it (I checked the reviews and comments), but with so many great shows out there… why waste your time on this one?
