A K-Drama with some of the best OST

Chicago Typewriter is one of the most unique and emotionally rich Korean dramas of its era, blending past and present with remarkable creativity. Even without spoilers, it’s easy to praise its writing, atmospheric storytelling, and especially its characters—who feel alive with depth—and an OST that elevates the entire experience.
I loved this drama, Best K-Drama of 2017!

The drama weaves together themes of creativity, healing, loyalty, and destiny in a way that feels almost literary.
The pacing may feel deliberate at times, but that’s also part of its charm—.At first I thought the story was nothing special, but it was amazing after the drama started picking up.
It gives the story room to breathe, allowing viewers to fully absorb its emotional weight. Every episode builds quietly toward deeper understanding, making the journey incredibly rewarding The story is original and set in the 1930's. The sets and costumes are amazing. Very well done! The story that was set in the past was a bit more interesting with the action and everything, but the present was also mysterious and engaging. The going back and forth between past and present was really done well and clean. The ending of the drama was concluded with satisfaction and many emotions I experienced.

The actors did an amazing job. The Male Lead and Female lead fit in their roles and gave a spectacular performance. The third male lead was great! The bromance was Amazing between Han Se Joon and Yoo Jin Oh. The romance was also Great.
The characters are the core of what makes this drama shine.
The male lead is a beautifully flawed, layered character—part vulnerable artist, part reluctant hero. Watching his emotional journey is one of the drama’s greatest strengths.
The female lead brings warmth, sincerity, and strength. She’s grounded, kind, and easy to root for, adding balance and humanity to the story.
The second male lead practically steals scenes with his loyalty, charisma, and emotional depth. He provides both heart and humor, becoming a fan favorite for good reason.
Their personalities, motivations, and evolving bonds feel genuine and richly developed. The chemistry—romantic, platonic, and historical—creates an emotional pull that keeps you invested from beginning to end.

A Legendary OST That Defines the Drama’s Soul.
If there is one element that pushes Chicago Typewriter from great to unforgettable, it’s the soundtrack. The OST is nothing short of phenomenal. The OST makes this drama even better, the song Come With Me is a Masterpiece. I loved it when it came on the Drama. Probably my favourite song out of all the K-Drama OST. Also Satellite, Be My Light, Writing Our Stories and Time Walk is Superb, they were great at capturing the drama’s mood of longing, memory, and fate. The music is not just an accessory. I love that most of the songs were in English, which makes it amazing and a storytelling companion that deepens the emotional impact of countless scenes.

The drama’s visual style is elegant and cohesive. It shifts between eras seamlessly, using warm tones and symbolic imagery that enrich the themes of writing, memory, mystery and romance.
Though the drama is exceptional, its slower pacing may not appeal to every viewer. It asks for patience, especially in the earlier episodes. For some, the gradual build might feel a bit too measured.

This Drama is one of a kind, as I am having withdrawal feeling right now. It's beautiful, heartfelt, and haunting in the best way. A must-watch for anyone seeking something meaningful and artistically crafted.
It’s a drama that leaves a strong emotional imprint and offers a refreshing, memorable experience.
I will definitely re watch this drama in the future.
