I think they both are. They need to both step back look at their feelings. Put their cards on the table and just realize that not all friendships can become romance and vice versa. Is it better to just stay friends or keep the hurt feelings of rejection and not be friends.

We can completely blame the screenwriters. It's like they didn't know how to make the them have an issue that can be resolved but also keep them in the same space for scenes. So they made the FL and ML selfish, stubborn, set in their ways etc. For long time friends, it makes it seem like they were not so serious and deep of friends and it was all shallow and above surface like coworkers that are friends at the office but just friendly outside of it. They are both acting like high schoolers instead of grown ass 30+ year olds. IDK it seems like a lot of kdramas/makjangs infantalize adults as if they are writing high school stories instead of adult life.

Have I missed something? I don't know why Crown Prince is the way he is. Like who hurt him?! Other than jealousy, not wanting XSH to be on the emperor's good side to receive praise and seem better than him.

Did I miss something about A-Shu, wasn't he a child when Baby Cat Lord arrived in Demon City and went to look for demon knowledge books? Now he is shown as being an adult during the fire where FL was saved and became Cat Lord as a child aka Baby Cat Lord. Did he go from adult to younger child that "lost his memory"?

Could the culprit be that rich power man that she rejected his advances when she was being coerced into having that "business"/"networking" meeting in that private room?

Did I misunderstand? Did she have 2 accidents? One as her younger self then one as her older self because she had a job at the school cafeteria and also has a current ID with her older self rather than when she was younger. She couldn't have been in a coma for 25 years LOL

IMHO that could be wrong just how I've seen it and I honestly think they should have stuck with silly, powerful, yet obsessed/super in love/crush girlie that goes out and puts himself out there as a damsel and likable to Sheng instead of the full on manipulation and gaslighting as it makes HY unlikable to me. If anyone saw Wenderella's Diary, where FL is scheming but fun and ML is naive is sorta how I initally thought HY would be to Sheng.

They really whitewashed the story LOL land reform was violent even though the Communist Party was trying to restrain the peasants as the rich landowners were forced to give up their farmlands etc by any means necessary. Idk if I ever heard of rich just willingly donate. Maybe there were a few that saw the big picture and realized I better do it before I lose my head.

One of the big points that they are subtle with in the drama, is the rich landowners/landlords should give back to the poor is because the rich are exploiting their tenants/workers by charging them high rent, abusing them, sometimes just stealing like forcing some to work for free. The drama made it seem like oh we should give them this and that because it's for the collective good LOL but not pointing out the issues.

They didn't show much abuse in the drama and IDK if it was whitewash things or if they wouldn't pass censor review.

We do see Landlords renting small plots of land to poor and landless peasants, charging high rates that trapped them in a cycle of debt as we see with Feng Si's, YinZi's and TieTou's family.

Ning was shown that he was forcing some to work for free or reduced wages.

Landlords held control over grain, which they held the power over peasants, more so during times of famine or hardship.

My girl SuSu deserved better. She could have travelled the world and found her passion instead of being made the The archtype of idealized Chinese woman characterized by unwavering devotion, patience, and loyalty. It felt like she just gave up and made the best of it plus her reputation would be ruined if she had been officially been deflowered and then sent back to her house. I don't even think anyone in the village was divorced. Most of the single women were either unmarried or widowed.

They kind have to go through so many time skips or mention things here and there while showing this and that to cover 1924 to 1944. Idk if production just didn't plan out the arcs properly.
